15 Perfect Jams for a Great Mood

Music unites us. There are certain songs that, no matter where you are, elicit such a powerful happiness that you can't do anything besides smile and sing along. Some bring back memories, other bring back unforgettable feelings. Nothing beats having an awesome playlist full of throwbacks and current songs like this.

1. Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond

I'm pretty sure no one knows any other words except "...TOUCHING MEEEEE, TOUCHING YOUUUUUUU... SWEEEEET CAROLINEEEE! BA-BA-BA..." but the song is still so awesome! I honestly can't remember a time when this song didn't make me smile.

2. Wagon Wheel - Old Crow Medicine Show

Another absolute classic. The words aren't too hard, so even little kids are picking up on. I may judge you if you don't sing "Rock Me Mama Like a Wagon Wheel!" at the top of your lungs.

3. I'm Gonna Be - The Proclaimers

I'm positive many of you will have to look this one up, but when you do-- it'll make you smile. You totally know it! I mean, I would walk 500 miles too for the love of my life, too!

4. Lose Yourself - Eminem

Mom's spaghetti. Need I say more?

5. She Will be Loved - Maroon 5

Those high notes are KILLER, but the song is so perfect it doesn't even matter. Adam Levine will always be the only person that can sing this song. His vocals are to DIE for.

6. Breakin' Free - High School Musical Cast

Ever since HSM came out, you can start with "Soarin'... Flyin..." and someone will always counter you with "WE' RE BREAKING FREE!" Besides, high school musical references are made daily. Thank you Troy and Gabriella for this iconic tune.

7. Trap Queen and 679 - Fetty Wap

Even though these songs are relatively new, 98% of the population know the choruses. Both are incredibly catchy, and have killer choruses. I wanna be a trap queen, not gonna lie.

8. Beautiful Soul - Jesse McCartney

Every girl knows this song even before it starts by the simple guitar start. Yes, every girl still swoons when they listen to this long. Boys, take notes from the amazing Jesse McCartney.

9. It Wasn't Me - Shaggy

Jamaican accent and everything, this song is such a great song to let loose and jam to, no matter where you are.

10. Cruise - Florida Georgia Line

The perfect summer song! With such an upbeat melody and fun lyrics, this song is great for pumping up a party.

11. Candy Shop - 50 Cent

You wanna see some people get freaky, play this jam. One that never goes out of style, and never fails to bring out the freak in all of us!

12. Closer - Chainsmokers

This current jam is too perfect not to be put on this list! Even though it's still super relevant, I have a feeling it will be for the next couple years too.

13. Show Goes On - Lupe Fiasco

Such. A. Jam. Can we please bring back awkward middle school dances?!

14. Ignition (Remix) - R. Kelly

Literally nothing beats this song. Ever. I know you still know all the words, too. Don't lie!

15. Get Low - Ying Yang Twins

You're absolutely lying if you say you don't like this song. This song is too much, but so perfect. Can you point me to the windows?

16. Your Personal Favorite

Hey, I got you this far. I know there is a song you can't get out of your head, but are too afraid to admit! Play it! No one's looking ;)

These songs are so fun and up beat, a little butt shaking is absolutely required!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
