It is about to be that time when we go back to school shopping. It can be hard to know exactly what to buy. Especially if your school is somewhat preppy and you are getting overwhelmed by sales and a time crunch. Below are a list of 15 things that I believe are life savers and are great basics for school.

1. Boat Shoes

I mean, they go with basically everything!

2. Rain Boots and Socks

I go to college in Maryland and when it rained or snowed, I would be wearing rain boots (obviously). Also, invest in a good pair of boot socks. They keep you warm.

3. A Nice, Classy Dress

Need a reason to have a nice dress? Pictures by the Chestertown Fountain in the spring.

4. Sunglasses

Sunglasses are necessary for those nice, warm days when you can do everything outside.

5. Leggings

I really shouldn't have to explain this one.

6. The Planner

If it wasn't for my planner, I probably wouldn't have made it through the year. It keeps you organized and on top of your work! So, invest in a good planner!

7. Cute Shorts

Cute shorts, fun shorts, whatever you call them, they are great for spring and fall. They are comfy, but also super cute!

8. Scarves

Scarves are good statement pieces that also keep you warm during the cold winter months. Plus, adding a scarf to your outfit automatically makes it cuter.

9. Fleece Pullover

I never understood the hype until I got one. The best time to get one is right after winter or whenever there is a sale because they can get expensive.

10. A Wristlet

A wristlet can hold money, IDs, and sometimes even your phone. Honestly, this was one of the best investments I made because it keeps everything all together.

11. Vests

Some people think that vests are a waste of fabric. Nope! On days where it's not too cold, but it is still chilly enough for you to want an extra layer, a vest is the way to go!

12. Riding Boots

Dresses, jeans, leggings, they go with almost everything. I lived in mine during the winter. You can get a pair for as low as 20 dollars.

13. Monograms

Monograms are like the trademark of prepsters.

14. Sandals

Sandals are always a good thing to have. Whether it is shorts and a t-shirt or a cute sundress, sandals work wonders for your outfit.

15. Large Tote

This is the one thing I didn't have, but I really wish I had. They work for every occasion.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
