Have you ever vividly remembered something that never existed? It's called the Mandela Effect. There really is no way of explaining this phenomenon. It's not a false memory nor is it a conspiracy theory. In fact, many people believe that it has to do with a parallel universe. Fiona Broome, a paranormal enthusiast was the one who first brought up the idea of the Mandela Effect. It all started when she could have sworn she remembered Nelson Mandela dying in the 1980's when really he died in 2013. This is where we get the term "Mandela Effect". Online you will see many people trying to "debunk" or disprove certain Mandela Effects. How exactly are we supposed to "debunk" something that never existed? Here are 20 different Mandela Effects that you may or may not have heard of.
1. "Fruit Loops" is actually "Froot Loops?
As a kid, I ate these a lot. I still do, but I always remember it being "fruit" and not "froot".
"Sketchers" was never spelled with a "T". The correct spelling is "Skechers". Is it me or does that look very wrong?
3. White Out is spelled wrongIsn't it funny that "White Out" is supposed to correct your spelling mistakes when the label itself is spelled incorrectly? "White Out" has no "h". It's actually spelled "Wite-Out".
You're probably thinking that it's spelled with two "E's", but you're wrong. Go look at a bottle and you'll be surprised to find out that is actually "Febreze".
If you've ever watched the movie "Silence of The Lambs" you remember his famous line "Hello Clarice", right? Well, Hannibal Lecter never said that. Who knows where we got that from, but go watch the movie or look up the scene on Youtube. That line doesn't exist.
6. "We Are The Champions"... of the world?
Indeed, Queen does say "We are the champions of the world" in the song, but do you remember how the song ends? It doesn't end with "of the world". In fact, it ends abruptly. That's not how I remember it. Don't believe me? Go listen to the song.
7. The Monopoly Man
The famous board game "Monopoly" has been around for as long as I can remember. The Monopoly Man is most famous for his monocle. But wait, what monocle? He doesn't have one.
8. Looney Tunes
I bet you think I spelled "tunes" wrong, but I didn't. It never was "Looney Toons" which doesn't make sense considered that is a carTOON show.
One of the most popular food chains "Chick-Fila-A" was spelled "Chic-Fil-A" at one point... or was it? It never was. This may not come as a shock to some of you, but I clearly remember it not having a "K".
10. "Life is like a box of chocolates"
This famous line quoted in the famous movie "Forrest Gump" is completely wrong. It's actually, "Life WAS like a box of chocolates". Since when is there "was" in the title? That doesn't even sound right.
Almost everyone has had a hot dog from this brand, but the way we think it is spelled is completely wrong. It's actually "Oscar MEYER".
12. "Mirror Mirror On The Wall"
This famous line from the good old classic "Snow White" is not what we think it is. It's actually "Magic Mirror On The Wall". I had to go back and watch this scene again because I couldn't believe it.
13. The Berenstein Bears
This is the most popular and well-known Mandela Effect of them all. Look it up online and you'll come to find out that it's actually "The Berenstain Bears". Mind BLOWN.
14. The Flintstones
You probably think I made a grammatical error by adding in the "T", but I did not. I always remember it being "The Flinstones". Never has there been any emphasis on the word giving us the impression that it's actually spelled with a "T", but apparently it is. Maybe they changed it? I don't think so.
