People often blame Disney for setting girls' standards too high when it comes to dating. "You're never going to meet a real Prince Charming," they say. That's fine with me. I'm more upset that I'm never going to meet a McDreamy or McSteamy anytime soon. I don't blame Disney, I blame Shonda Rhimes. Whoever cast "Friday Night Lights," were you looking to ruin my life? From the hot to the cute to the absolutely heart-melting, here are 15 non-Disney dudes who totally ruined your expectations for the dating world:

1. Derek Shepherd

But we all know you're so much more than a guy in a bar. Thanks for setting the standard for attractive, romantic doctors. Then in later seasons, thanks again for setting the standard for the perfect husband and father.

2. Mark Sloan

He messed up a lot, but he also lived up to our Derek Shepherd set standards for a beautiful hospital staff. Plus he has his nice moments that make him even better.

3. Alex Karev

Maybe not your favorite character in the first couple of seasons, but when he started working in pediatrics, it was hard not o fall in love with him.

4. Jackson Avery

Those big blue eyes were a nice addition to an already perfect hospital staff. Plus, he missed Mark as much as the rest of us.

5. Tim Riggins

Being the football-playing bad boy is definitely how he caught your attention. How much he loves his family and friends is what made you wish he was real. Texas forever.

6. Coach Eric Taylor

The best character on the show, maybe in any show, he is absolutely perfect in every way. Who doesn't idolize his marriage a little bit anyway?

7. Nathan Scott

Once he fell for Hayley, it was impossible not to fall for him. Their relationship is easily one of the best parts of the show and a standard-setter for sure.

8. Lucas Scott

In season one, when you hated Nathan, he was the lovable Scott brother. Sensitive athlete? Chad Michael Murray was born to play that role (as he did multiple times).

9. Julian Baker

Because Brooke Davis is already perfect, and a man that deserves her has to be too.

10. Stiles Stilinski

The single reason I still watch "Teen Wolf," he's such a cutie. His season one crush on Lydia definitely made you think twice about choosing the hero (Scott) over the nerdy sidekick.

11. Chuck Bass

If he didn't make you want to move to Manhattan and start wearing headbands, you're lying. Plus, he set the standard for flower buying at peonies.

12. Nate Archibald

I can't figure out why he didn't wind up with anyone on this show. He's gorgeous, driven and a regular Prince Charming type.

13. Dan Humphrey

Some people might disagree, but his undying love for Serena was kinda cute (also very creepy). Plus he dated Hillary Duff on the show and if she could see something in him, so can we.

14. Damon Salvatore

Vampires definitely aren't my thing, but if there's a reason to watch that show, it's him. Check out those pretty blue eyes.

15. Uncle Jesse

In honor of the release of "Fuller House," can we appreciate how cute he is? Thanks for being our first crush.

16. Jim Halpert

His over-the-top pranks and love for Pam make him literally perfect. Even if he isn't the cutest, he won our hearts anyway.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
