15 Things That Give You Anxiety In College As Told By "Spongebob Squarepants"

We've all been there. Sitting on the floor or walking to class, wondering how the hell we're going to make it through the week, let alone the semester. The good news is that we can all relate. Here are 15 things that give you anxiety in college.

1. Thinking about your existence and why you're in college in the first place.

You soon realize you need a degree in this competitive world to accomplish your goals, even though Steve Jobs dropped out.

2. You think, "Hm, I should really work out."

But then you discover six more hours of homework you forgot to do on WebAssign, you have laundry in the wash, and you still have to eat a meal for the first time all day.

3. It's already 3 a.m.?

Time for dinner.

4. It's Wednesday and you really need a shower.

But you can only fit one in tomorrow at 6:32 p.m.

5. Your English paper is due at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.

But your physics quiz is at 9 a.m.

6. You should start the paper.

7. You get the most unfair professor of your life.

You work your butt off to slightly pass because your "hard work" is at most a C in the professor's mind. He has tenure.

8. You think you can take a nap in 13 minutes.

What are the odds you wake up for your next class?

9. Your friend complains about their reading quiz while you study for four exams you have within two days.

10. You wake up six minutes before your first class.

Do you go to class in your bed clothes or sleep until the next one?

11. You have enough toothpaste for one more brush.

Do you use half a serving or wait until you can get to the store?

12. You study your butt off only to receive a less than average score.

But you still beg for mercy.

13. Sometimes you just want to have fun.

But do you have time??

14. When you devote your time to an assignment, and the professor doesn't collect it.

Are. You. Kidding. Me.

15. The one thing that you can't control is time.

And all you want is time.

College is stressful, and so is anxiety. If only we had more time...

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
