15 Free (Or Cheap) Things To Do In Sunbury, Ohio This Summer

Everyone is writing up lists of amazing and fun things to tackle in their big city homes throughout the summer months. From beaches to drive-in theaters to cheap thrift stores and flea markets, so many cities have just what you need to have the most epic summer of your life. But Sunbury is no different. Though it is small and literally nobody has ever heard of it, it contains a plethora of fun things to do in the summer.

1. Go to the pool, a.k.a, mooch off of your friend who has a pool.

Since Zoombezi bay is just too far and too expensive and you run the risk of running into people you don't like at a Westerville pool, find someone you can tolerate and buddy up with them until they let you swim in their pool.

2. Get ice cream from Whit's and cry that Creme Corner is closed.

You can say Whit's is good all you want, it doesn't hold a damn candle to Creme Corner.

3. Learn what the neighborhood behind McDonald's and Wendy's is called.

This is a free activity that won't benefit you in the long run but may come in handy for some wildly fun Sunbury trivia.

4. Go to the flea market dressed like its comfest and only buy one of those huge, overpriced lemonades.

Your maxi skirt and knitted top looks silly as you walk around the not-so-booming metropolis of Sunbury, Ohio. We know you're not going to buy any $400 antique knives or used bras. Also, we're pretty sure you won't be headed over to the Bathtub Fitter who is constantly there despite never having a single soul stop in.

5. Watch the Sunbury fireworks.

You know, so you can take a ton of pictures and then make out with someone in the grass white the fireworks destroy the soccer field.

6. Avoid everyone you know in Kroger.

It costs you 0 dollars to duck and dive behind various displays and into aisles to avoid talking to your high school acquaintance.

7. Go to the beach, a.k.a, Alum Creek.

Everybody's favorite past time that might result in discovering a dead body.

8. Go to the same party you go to/went to every weekend in high school.

Cheap beer? Same people? Music playing over a bonfire while one or two people is much drunker than everyone else and makes a fool out of themselves? I may have been here before...

9. Complain on Facebook about the traffic due to the new outlet mall

Such a fun past time that will literally result in no changes at all, ever.

10. Go to a fair or 12

I'm not sure 12 is an accurate number but I'm sure in Sunbury you can find something to do with hay and animals more than once.

11. Catch a baseball game at Ruffner until it eventually floods and is useless

The field that needs one large rain to render it unplayable for the remainder of the summer.

12. Hop the fence at Sunbury Mills to swim

Our "public pool" is really just a bunch of people trespassing and swimming in an underwhelming apartment pool.

13. Go cow tipping, probably

Its Sunbury, I don't know.

14. Spend a day in Columbus

You know, the place you tell everybody you live?

15. Plan a vacation to somewhere that is not Sunbury, Ohio

As much fun as it is to have literally no legitimate activities to do, maybe planning a city or beach vacation might be the best way to spend your time in good 'ol Sunbury, Ohio.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
