When looking back on your tween years, many people laugh at the awkward stage Facebook memories love to remind you of, raise an eyebrow at the questionable haircuts you somehow thought you pulled off with great style, or slightly grimace when reminded of the amount of boy band posters taped to your bedroom walls. However, if you were a tween back in the 2000's, chances are nothing gives you nightmarish flash-backs quite like the outfits you used to sport and the trends you used to follow. Here's a list of the fashion faux pas sure to bring you back to the runway that was your middle school hallway if you were a tween in the 2000's.

1.) Gaucho Pants

A personal favorite of mine, gaucho pants served as the wonderful cross between a flowy skirt and pant combo that felt like Heaven, but looked like Hell. Tip: wear these in the winter to increase your chance of frost bite, and decrease your chance at friendship!!

2.) Juicy Couture Velour Sweatsuit

Girls wanted to be them, 12 year old boys wanted to date them; enter, the cool girls sporting the Juicy Couture Velour Sweatsuit! I always envied the girls that got to wear the hot tracksuits to school, but then again, I always envied the kids that got to dye their hair zebra striped blonde.

3.) The Asymmetrical/Denim Mini Skirt

Long live the days where low rise, oddly shaped skirts were a thing of beauty.

4.) Shrugs

Wishing I could still *shrug* off the horror that was me wearing one of these almost every single day of 2004-2005.

5.) Layered Shirts/Tank Tops

Hey, if my home girl Aly Michalka could pull it off, I'm sure I did, too.

6.) Studded Belts

We all had that angsty tween rebel inside of us that insisted on painting our nails chipped black and rocking our studded belts with green cargo pants!

7.) Butterfly Clips

First it was the scrunchies, then came the butterfly clips, and next the hair feathers. What will be next? Only God, and Melissa Joan Hart, can tell.

8.) Pleather Purse with a Lowercase Initial

One could only pray to be rocking this fine accessory while wearing a Tiffany's charm bracelet at the same time.

9.) Shutter Shades

Shutter shades, or as I refer to them, an ode to awkward middle school dances.

10.) The Dress-Over-Jeans Ensemble

If Anne Hath-a-will to pull off this complex outfit, Anne Hath-a-way.

11.) Hollister/Abercrombie and Fitch Shirts

No one loved the cotton labeled shirts more than tweens in 2006!

12.) Livestrong Bracelets

You may not have known what they stood for, but you knew you looked cool wearing one!

13.) Shiny Cargo Pants

"I saw Cady Heron wearing cargo pants and flip flops, so I bought cargo pants and flip flops," -An awkward character in Mean Girls/Me everyday of 2003.

14.) The Necktie Obsession, Courtesy of Avril Lavigne

Whether we used them as a belt or as a necklace, we can all thank Avril Lavigne for our favorite tomboy trend.

15.) Beaded Chokers, and Other Accessories

If watching Lizzie McGuire ten times a day taught me anything, it's that I was not wrong for buying every beaded accessory Limited Too and Claire's sold.

All in all, I think we can agree that the 2000's were a hubbub of mass fashion chaos, and we should be forever grateful that our Nokia and Razor cell phones didn't have a front facing camera to further document the horror that was our tween years.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
