These facts amazed me too.
1. Hippo milk is pink
2. The heart of a blue whale is so big that a human could swim through the arteries.
3. Betty White is actually older than sliced bread.
4. A strawberry isn't a berry. However, bananas, avocados, watermelons, and even cucumbers are considered berries.
5. Honey never spoils.
6. An octopus has 3 hearts.
Two hearts are for pumping blood into the gills to replenish blood with oxygen, and a larger heart is for pumping blood throughout the rest of the octopus.
7. Sand looks like this under a microscope
8. Flamingos can only eat with their heads upside down.
They scoop the soil at the bottom of the water they are wading in and separate the mud and silt out of what they want to eat.
9. Peanuts are not nuts.
They grow in the ground, so they are actually legumes.
10. Turtles can breathe out of their butts.
11. The dot over the letter 'i' is called a "tittle."
12. The human body replaces most of its cells every 7-15 years, but some cells do not regenerate once they die.
For example, the cells that line the stomach last up to five days since they are constantly exposed to stomach acids.
