The 15 Best Emma Watson Quotes
Joachim Stroink

Emma Watson is the true embodiment of beauty, wisdom and grace. She is able to flawlessly pull off being in the public eye and continues to be a true role model. Not only is she a feminist, Brown University graduate and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, but also an actress. She is flawlessly able to balance all of her responsibilities with poise. Here are a few quotes from her, in honor of her birthday on April 15th.

On Feminism:

1. "When at 15, my girlfriends started dropping out of their beloved sports teams because they didn’t want to appear muscle-y, when at 18, my male friends were unable to express their feelings, I decided that I was a feminist.”
2. "Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do or achieve. Do what you want to do and be who you want to be. Just encourage and include each other, don’t ostracize the gender in front of you."
3. "If men don’t have to be aggressive in order to be accepted, women won’t feel compelled to be submissive. If men don’t have to control, women won’t have to be controlled."
4. “The saddest thing a girl can do is dumb herself down for a guy.”

5. "We [women] really need to support each other, we really do. So, I guess I would say be brave enough to acknowledge that things are not there yet and support each other.”
6. It's not the word [feminism] that it's important. It's the idea and ambition behind it.”

On Beauty:

7. "There’s nothing interesting about looking perfect–you lose the point. You lose the point. You want what you’re wearing to say something about you, about who you are."
8. "I truly, truly believe that beauty comes from within."
9. "It makes me sad to hear girls constantly putting themselves down. We have these unbelievably high expectations of ourselves, when actually we’re human beings and our bodies have a function."
10. "We really damage our own confidence when we put ourselves down, so I try not to."

On Working:

11. "I think that it is very important if you know what you want, understand where you are heading towards, and try your best to get it. It is only when we use our hearts to do it, and fall in love with what we are doing, then can we really get real determination.”
12. “I’ve probably earned the right to screw up a few times. I don’t want fear of failure to stop me doing what I really care about.”
13. "All I can do is follow my instincts because I’ll never please everyone.”
14. “I don’t want other people to decide who I am. I want to decide that for myself.”
15. “There’s nothing wrong with being afraid. It’s not the absence of fear, it’s overcoming it. Sometimes you’ve got to blast through and have faith.”

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
