It happens to me all the time: my boyfriend and I fall into the rut of not being able to come up with date ideas. Sound familiar? Well, look no further. Here are 15 ideas for date nights for any couple.

Cook together.

Cooking together is not only a fun endeavor, but it allows you to share a love of food without breaking the bank at a fancy restaurant. Plus then you both have a meal to prepare for the other!

Go for a walk.

Whether you’re into fitness, photography, or are just looking for something to do on a nice night, go find a local trail. You’ll explore new territory and get some exercise in the works!

Go dive hopping.

My parents do this with their friends and say it’s a blast. Basically, just find tiny hole in the wall restaurants around you. Dives often offer delicious food, but get there early! Seating is limited at most dives, so be prepared to wait for the food!

Go shopping.

I love playing dress up, and always wonder what my boyfriend would like me to wear. So pick out an outfit for each other and try them on. Nothing beats knowing what your significant other likes!

Watch the sunset.

While most guys won’t admit it, watching the sunset is romantic and breathtaking. I love the beauty of a sunset, and there’s just a certain vibe from watching the sun set (especially on the water!).

Go out for ice cream.

What’s better than ice cream on a hot summer night? There’s something so refreshing about ice cream, and satisfying your sweet tooth with your significant other is even better.

Have a movie marathon.

Pick out a few movies each, no resisting! The only rules to this one are you have to watch your significant other’s favorites, and they have to watch yours. You may find some mutual favorites this way!

Go to a wine tasting.

If you’re over 21, this is a romantic and classy date. Not many things are classier than sipping on a glass of wine, and this can be a simple but elegant date.

Go to a drive-in movie theater.

If you’re fortunate enough to have one near you, they can be a great night out! Bring lots of blankets, pillows, bug spray, and snacks!

Play mini golf.

While it seems like a simple kids game, mini golf can be quite competitive. Bring your A game and leave it all to the putter!

Play board games.

Sorry, Clue, Life, Monopoly—all can make for a fun night in. And if you’re on a double or triple date, team games can be fun! Cards Against Humanity is another must, preferably for couples 17+, bring your sense of humor!

Have a photo shoot.

If you have a friend who’s into photography, have them do a shoot with you and your significant other. Getting dressed up is always fun, and so is the process. You get tons of cute pictures out of it (candids are always my favorite!)

Swap hobbies.

Is there anything you’re really passionate about? Teach your significant other the tricks of the trade, and take turns exploring each other’s hobbies. You’ll learn a lot about each other in the process!

Work out together.

If you’re into fitness, working out together can be a bonding experience. Swapping workout ideas and fitness tips can only benefit you both!

Have a picnic.

An oldie but goodie. Pack a basket full of goodies, grab a blanket and head to the park. You get to spend time together preparing your meal and enjoy it in the park. For a more modern twist, grab a Bluetooth speaker to have some background music!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
