15 Christian Songs That Help Me Through The Day

I don't know about you, but music is my love language. If anything can make me feel God's presence, it's music. Since becoming a follower of Jesus, I have relied a lot on Christian music to help me find my way back in hard times. I would rather listen to someone sing about God's grace than hear someone give a sermon any day. I promise I'm not hating on a good sermon every week, but that's not always how God gets through to me. This is a list of some songs that have helped me through days where I feel like 'I don't want to be the Jesus girl' and I think 'God's got more important things to worry about than me' or 'I messed up too much, it's no use anymore'. These are some of my life songs that have seen me through many of my rough patches in the last 3 years and will probably see me through the days ahead where my doubt will get the best of me.

1. Come To The River - Housefires

2. My Revival - Lauren Daigle

3. Open Heaven (River Wild) - Hillsong United

4.Your Great Name (Acoustic) - Natalie Grant

5. Every Giant Will Fall - Rend Collective

6. King of The World - Natalie Grant

7. Even When It Hurts (Praise Song) - Hillsong United

8. Tell Your Heart To Beat Again - Danny Gokey

9. Clean - Natalie Grant

10. Oh God - Citizens & Saints

11. Here Now (Madness) (Live) - Hillsong United

12. More Than Anything - Natalie Grant

13. Psalm 46 (Live) - Shane & Shane

14. Nothing Is Holding Me Back - Bryan & Katie Torwalt

15. Ever Be - Natalie Grant

These songs are my reminder that God is always with me even when my anxiety is running wild and nothing seems to be going right. I hope that they will be a reminder to someone else that God is always with you, even when you struggle, even when you doubt, even when you fall. He's always got your 6.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
