Music and singing are such great stress relievers and can help express any feelings. These songs are to help describe a moment in life, serve as encouragement, or just something new and fun to belt out while you drive down the road. I hope by you listening to some of these songs that these lyrics speak to you and God lays something on your heart. Some of these songs have helped me through some tough things in life and I hope you find peace when listening as I have.

You can listen here:

1. "It’s Not Over Yet" by For King and Country

The lyrics of this song truly speak volumes. It says, “to everyone who’s hit their limit, it's not over yet, it's not over yet. Even when you think you’re finished, it's not over yet, it's not over yet.” These lyrics helped when one of my best friends and boss committed suicide this past February. Belting these lyrics out at the top of your lungs truly helps coping with tough situations and it just reiterates that it’s not over yet and God’s always got you.

2. "One Step Away" by Casting Crowns

“Lay down, lay down your old chains, come now and take up your new name, your best life up ahead now.”

This brand new song from Casting Crowns is all about no matter how far you stray from God that you’re always one step away from coming back to him.

3. "When The Crazy Kicks In" by Francesca Battistelli

Francesca Battistelli sings about when life gets crazy. As college students, parents, or even just adults we know how crazy life can be. This song talks about how we should be ready for the distractions and still seek God through it all.

4. "Eye Of The Storm" by Ryan Stephenson

“In the eye of the storm, you remain in control, in the middle of the war, you guard my soul, you alone are the anchor when my sails are torn, your love surrounds me in the eye of the storm.”

I think this song is very appropriate with all of the hurricanes and tropical storms set to hit the United States. We need to always remember that even through the toughest times (storms) that God is always in control.

5. "Revelation Song" by Kari Jobe

This is a song you can listen to in solitude and use it to reflect on just how powerful and awesome God is. He is worthy of your praise.

6. "Washed By The Water (Acoustic Version)" by NEEDTOBREATHE

“Even when the rain falls, even when the flood starts rising, even when the storm comes, I am washed by the water.”

This song speaks to being saved and washed in the blood of Christ. No matter how deep and dark life gets, you can always remember that you’re washed by the water.

7. "Impossible" by Building 429

“We can rise above the typical, and be anything but usual. We know, we know, we know, that there's no such thing as impossible. And nothing is unreachable, when we trust the God of miracles. We know, we know, we know, that there's no such thing as impossible.”

As the lyrics say, there’s no such thing as impossible. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

8. "Even So Come" by Passion ft. Kristian Stanfill

“We’ll be a church, ready for you, every heart longing for our King.”

This song sings about being open for God to enter our hearts and how we’re waiting for his return. This song is fun to belt while you drive around town.

9. "Start A Fire" by Unspoken

“Start a fire in my soul, fan the flame and make it grow.”

As Christians we need to continue to light a spark in others so that we can continue to spread the love of Jesus.

10. "The River" by Jordan Feliz

“We’re going down to the river, down to the river, down to the river to pray.”

Jordan Feliz is new to the Christian music scene. His folk rock and Christian pop style provide a new sound on the Christian music scene. You can also check out his new song “Never Too Far Gone.”

11. "You Will Never Run" by Rend Collective

This folk rock band from Ireland has a fun different sound. Lucky for you Georgians who like this song, Rend Collective will be at the Move Conference in Macon, GA on December 30, 2016.

12. "You Are More" by Tenth Avenue North

“You are more than the choices that you’ve made, you are more than the sum of your past mistakes.”

No matter what you’ve done in life a sin is a sin and Jesus forgives them all. Don’t dwell on the past but continue to look to and live for the future.

13. "You Never Let Go" by Jeremy Camp

“Oh no, you never let go, through the calm and through the storm.”

The lyrics to this song really help you remember that no matter what you are going through in life that God will never let go.

14. "Air I Breathe" by Mat Kearney

“You are the air I breathe, you are the song I bleed.”

Kearney’s fun smooth style makes him a favorite. Give his more famous song “Nothing To Lose” a listen too.

15. "Brother" by NEEDTOBREATHE ft. Gavin Degraw

Brother let me be your shelter, never leave you all alone.”

This summer a Georgia 4-H Camp Counselor at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, the counselors sang this song to our 1,000 campers each week. It was truly amazing to hear the kids sing back to us. The lyrics speak so loudly so that everyone knows that we’re always there for one another.

These songs represent different styles, sounds and instances in life. I hope these songs touch your heart and soul and even get you interested in a new Christian artist. Enjoy listening and belting them out at the top of your lungs.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
