15 Carrie Bradshaw Quotes Every 20-Something Year Old Should Live By

While the last episode of "Sex and the City" may have aired over 12 years ago, this timeless show is still full of great advice for us ladies, especially those of us in our 20-somethings. Full of love, friendship, sex, and heartbreak, this show has been there for us since 1998, constantly offering advice, comfort and a good laugh. Carrie Bradshaw, one of the show's protagonists and leading ladies, has become a personal friend of mine, being there on really tough days, but also on those days when you just want to lay back, relax and have some alone time. She has taught me about the value of friendship, getting over heartbreak, loving myself, and being a stronger woman. Watching the show makes you feel like you're right there in NYC with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha, listening to their problems as they listen to yours. They're REAL, give the best advice, and teach us funny but valuable life lessons. Here are the 15 Carrie Bradshaw quotes every 20-something year old should live by:

1. "Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back."

2. "It's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart."

3. "Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be."

4. "The universe may not always play fair, but at least it's got a hell of a sense of humor."

5. "Some people refuse to live for anything less than butterflies."

6. "Life gives us plenty of chances to screw up, which means you have just as many chances to get it right."

7. "Being single used to mean that nobody wants you. Now it means you're pretty sexy and you're deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with."

8. "As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up, and just keep going."

9. "The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you that you love, well, that's just fabulous."

10. “Maybe mistakes are what make our fate... without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart... and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.”

11. "They say nothing lasts forever; dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style."

12. "Sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past, stop planning the future, stop figuring out precisely how we feel, stop deciding exactly what we want, and just see what happens."

13. "Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free, until they find someone just as wild to run with."

14. "Don't forget to fall in love with yourself first."

15. "Somewhere out there is another little freak who will love us and understand us and kiss our three heads and make it all better."

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
