A bucket list is a list of activities that a person or people want to do before they die. Bucket lists can contain trips to various countries around the world, going skydiving, or participating in a 5K run/walk. Just for fun, here is a list of 15 items that I have on my bucket list.

1. Travel to every continent.

I love traveling, so a lot of these items will involve travelIng. All of the continents are unique and have interesting cultures. It would be so neat to experience all of those cultures!

2. Make friends in every continent.

Since I want to travel to each continent, I would want to make friends there. It would be a great way to learn more about the cultures and meet new people. I would also have more people with whom to share life experiences.

3. Travel to every country in Asia.

I have always been fascinated by Asian culture, which is influential to the creation of this bucket list item. Each country has its own history and culture, and traveling to each country would allow me to see the similarities and differences between the countries.

4. Ride on a hot air balloon.

I love seeing pictures of people riding on hot air balloons, and I think that it looks so cool!

5. Visit all 50 states.

The U.S. is a large country, and each state has its own claim to fame. It would be very interesting to see all of the sites that are in our country.

6. Go skydiving.

Skydiving just seems so cool! Skydiving is jumping out of a plane and having a parachute bring you gently back to the ground. What does not sound awesome about that?!

7. Go to a famous music festival.

Music festivals have great food, great music and a lot of great people. The festival experience would be an awesome experience to have under your belt.

8. Go to a floating lantern festival.

At a floating lantern festival, not only would I make my own lantern, I would take so many pictures and bond with everyone there. Of course, I would also break out into a Tangled song.

9. Spend a night in a tree house.

Now, I'm not talking about a small tree house found in a back yard. I'm talking about a large tree house that's found in tall trees in a forest. I would be among nature while also staying warm and cozy.

10. Get a front row seat at a concert.

I have been to numerous concerts, and have enjoyed each one. However, I would love to be in the front row near the stage. I would get a new experience by being able to be closer to the performer.

11. Go scuba diving.

Scuba diving includes going to a tropical area and getting close to some wonderful parts of nature. It would be fantastic to see the multi-colored fish that inhabit the reefs in the ocean.

12. Go on a cruise.

Spending time in the ocean? Check. Taking part in various excursions? Check. Having a boat-load of fun? Check. All of the exciting adventures offered from a cruise would allow me to "seas" the day!

13. Participate in La Tomatina.

La Tomatina is a festival in Spain that takes place at the end of August. During the festival, participants throw tomatoes at each other until the supply runs out. The week leading up to the famous tomato fight is filled with food and parades. That seems like a pretty awesome adventure!

14. Participate in Holi.

Holi is a Hindu celebration in India that celebrates the coming of spring. The celebration is best known for the practice of throwing colored powder and water on friends, families, and neighbors. This colorful celebration is definitely one that I would love to join.

15. Visit the birthplaces of all of my favorite authors.

Not only am I a nerdy English major (literature puns make my day), but I love to read. Every book I have read has had some sort of influence on my life. To be able to visit the home of most (if not all) of my favorite authors would be so amazing and surreal!

My bucket list is pretty long, but I definitely wish to accomplish it. Now, I want to know about your bucket list. Is anything the same? What else do you have on your bucket list?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
