"Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning
Will always find their kind."
-The Sorting Hat

For those of us in Ravenclaw, celebrating knowledge, wisdom, and verbal wittiness is not only a pleasure but a necessity. We love learning for the sake of learning and enjoy a good pun or quip now and then. Because of our thirst for knowledge, reading is definitely high on the list of hobbies for Ravenclaws; however, even the best of us struggle with what to read next. No worries, Ravenclaws! Here is a list of books to help you out of your midsummer slump.

1. Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson

"Is it important to be right or is it important to do what's right? That's one of the hardest lessons to learn."

Science, suspense, and wings, oh my! Follow Max and her mutant family as they fight for their freedom . . . and survive high school.

2. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

This novel is curiouser and curiouser. Kind of like Ravenclaw students.

3. Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

"The impossible could not have happened, therefore the impossible must be possible in spite of appearances."

What is more fun than trying to solve the mystery before the great Hercule Poirot does? Break out your notebook and pencil as you follow along Poirot's mental investigation.

4. Emma by Jane Austen

"A lucky guess is never merely luck. There is always some talent in it."

Because Jane Austen is the Queen of Wit, and this is one of her most celebrated novels.

5. The Circle Series by Ted Dekker (+ the dozen or so books that are interconnected with them in some way, shape, or form)

"Born of Black and White, Eaten with worms, I'm a Saint, a Sinner, a Siren of the Word. The Circle knows me, the rest just wanna trip on Grace Juice, Baby. Showdown at midnight."

Get your crazy wall and red yarn ready to make all the connections between these novels, and stand back in awe of the genius that is Ted Dekker. Seriously. He is either mad or a genius.

P.S. It does not really matter where you start in these novels. They all come full circle. (GENIUS.)

6. The Book of Proverbs

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Those of wit and wisdom still have much to learn from the wisest king in history. Apply Solomon's godly wisdom to every day life for the best life ever.

7. The Complete Plays of William Shakespeare

"I wonder that you will still be talking. Nobody marks you."

If Austen is the Queen of Wit, then Will is the King. Need a good insult or comeback? Look no further!

8. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

"I'd rather take coffee than compliments just now."

Jo March is funny, smart, creative, and independent. If she were to attend Hogwarts, she would no doubt be a Ravenclaw.

9. The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

"The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes."

Enter your mind palace and try to keep up with the amazing Mr. Sherlock Holmes, "the greatest detective of them all."

10. Familiar Quotations by John Bartlett

"Learn to live, and live to learn, Ignorance like a fire doth burn" -Bayard Taylor

Find quotes and poems from some of the brightest minds in history in this compilation from Bartlett. Memorize them to add to your own education, or just so you can quote them off the cuff and impress your friends.

11. The Book Jumper by Mechthild Glaser

"It was full of whispered words, the lure of stories waiting to be read, a rustle of promise that hung in the air. How many adventures were hidden in here in paper and ink, how many great love stories, how many epic battles?"

What would happen if we could enter any book we wanted at any time we wanted and experience the story for ourselves? Find out in this novel!

12. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

"Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts compared to space."

Because, if we are honest, Ravenclaws are a little weird.

13. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

"Stuff your eyes with wonder . . . live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories."

A celebration of books and the freedom to learn as you will. It makes one want to start a reading revolution.

14. The World Book Encyclopedia

"The world encyclopedia, the universal library, exists, and it is the world itself." -Alberto Manguel

Knowledge at your fingertips, with that lovely book smell.

15. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

"Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure."

Obviously, most of you have probably already read the Harry Potter series, but The Order of the Phoenix is where we first meet Luna Lovegood, so it is worth revisiting.

(We love Luna.)

Well, there you have it: 15 (ish) books for Ravenclaws. How many have you read? Are there any others you would add?

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
