If you're a college student like me, you know how incredibly expensive it can get. Saving money should be at the top of every student's list of priorities. This is why student discounts are such an amazing thing. At these fifteen stores (or online stores), you can just whip out your student ID and get some pretty great discounts--just for being a broke college student.

1. Adobe

For tech-savvy students: you can receive amazing discounts on Adobe Software just because of your student ID. Among these discounts is 60 percent off Creative Cloud.

2. Amazon Student

If you love shopping online like I do, this will be your favorite. As a college student, you receive 50 percent off of Amazon Prime after a six-month free trial. If you're not familiar with Amazon Prime, you should be. You get unlimited two-day shipping on your packages, and video streaming on Amazon Videos. Click here to get started.

3. Apple

After seeing so many Macs on campus, I know this one is a must-have. Apple has plenty of student discounts. Check out Apple Education Pricing to see how much you can save on your next iPad or Mac.

4. J. Crew

Show your student ID at a J. Crew store and get 15 percent off any full priced item. This includes teachers, too!

5. Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A offers free drinks for college students with IDs, as long as you purchase a meal, too.

6. Chipotle

Chipotle also offers free drinks with the purchase of a meal.

7. Vineyard Vines

Vineyard Vines has a 15 percent student discount when you show your ID in stores.

8. Kenneth Cole

Show your ID in stores and receive 20 percent off full priced merchandise.

9. Buffalo Wild Wings

Another favorite of mine. Next time you go to Bdub's, ask about their student discount. You can score 10% off your meal with your ID.

10. The New York Times

If you like to read the newspaper, this is for you. The offers vary, but right now, The New York Times offers 4 weeks free, and then $1 a week on subscriptions.

11. Steve Madden

Save 10 percent on your purchases with your student ID.

12. Spotify

This is one I've been using for a couple years now! If you're looking for a great new music app with tons of music available to download and listen to offline, this is for you. Spotify Premium is usually $10 a month, but as students, we can have it for just $4.99.

13. Student Universe

For those of you who love to travel, check out Student Universe. Just sign up, confirm that you are a student, and you then can find various discount deals on flights, hotels and tours.

14. AMC theaters

Almost all AMC movie theaters offer discounted tickets for students on Thursdays. Just bring your ID and you're good to go.

15. Best Buy

To get discounts at Best Buy, just create an account on their website and sign up for College Student Deals. You will then be emailed coupon codes for great discounts both in-store and online.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
