15 'Adventure Time' GIFs That Explain Your College Experience

I've been drunk for four days straight, I used up all my meal swipes for the week, and I don't remember the last time I did any laundry, but it's fine.

A big problem that people often face is not being able to describe the way they were feeling at a certain point in time. Someone might have really rubbed your fur backwards in a way that you just can't explain on your own. Lucky for us millennials, we have GIFs to explain exactly how we're feeling. Having issues at the grocery store? There's a GIF for that. This morning was fantastic for no reason? There's a GIF for that too. College problems? You got it. Most GIFs are cut and polished from TV shows and movies, but the best of the best GIFs are from Cartoon Network's "Adventure Time." In other words, the greatest show ever created. Here are 15 times that "Adventure Time" GIFs totally explain your college experience:

1. When you and your roommate both have the same 8 a.m.

Looking back on high school, I have no idea how I managed to drag myself out of bed at 6 a.m. to get ready for the day. College makes you understand how painful it can be to wake up for a class at 8 when you were up all night doing hood-rat things with your friends, obviously. The key is to get yourself a buddy (roommates preferred) that is also in that class, and motivate each other to push through the pain.

2. When you learn how strange your roommate actually is.

You can't judge a book by its cover, so you can't assume you know someone very well until you really dig deep. Sometimes you get to know a person super quickly, but that's because you woke up to them staring directly into your soul from across the room at 4 in the morning.

3. Those days that you wake up and you're seriously not feeling yourself.

Dark bags under your eyes? Check (mine are Gucci). Groutfit? Double check. Some days you're going to wake up, look in the mirror and have a good sigh. Chances are that your outfit is going to consist of gray sweatpants with a slightly-different-gray sweatshirt, slippers and your hair (if it's long enough) up in a bun. Luckily, it won't take much to turn this day around; the answer could be as simple as a good cup of coffee.

4. When you've established a committed relationship with Netflix and your bed.

I know just as well as anyone else that there is nothing more satisfying than getting wrapped up in your blanket and having a Netflix marathon instead of doing actual work. Yes, re-watching every season of "Orange Is The New Black" is more important than finishing my Sociology project. Don't fight me on this.

5. That moment when the whole squad fails a test and you need to raise morale.

One of the most important lessons college can teach is that sometimes it's OK to cut your losses and go have a drink about it. College isn't like high school, and you'll soon find that failing things here or there isn't totally frowned upon. If you take a look around the room, you'll find plenty of people in the same boat as you.

6. When your internship makes you realize that you hate the career path you're on.

At some point in our lives, everyone wants to be something amazing. We all make it known that we're going to become a doctor, lawyer, CEO or whatever apex-career suits our interest. Then, a good chunk of us gets to college and changes majors pretty quickly. Changing majors is totally normal, and down the road you'll be thanking yourself for not pursuing a job you'd end up hating.

7, When you've definitely taken "No Shave November" too far.

It's all fun and games until strangers can no longer tell if you're homeless or a college student. Most guys that participate in the seasonal tradition don't actually take care of their beards as they're growing them, so it looks horrible. Is your beard for fashion or for warmth? I can't tell anymore, and November ended two weeks ago. Shave. It.

8. When the school is giving away free stuff but you're in class during the only time slot.

Seriously, I can not express how many times the college has offered things like free massages, time to play with puppies or free school apparel, and I was stuck in class or a meeting. It's almost as if they look at my schedule specifically, and line up all the best things with the times I'm busy. Thanks for nothing.

9. During a busy day when you finally find enough time to stop in the dining hall.

If I'm going on 2 p.m. with no food and I finally free up a minute to eat, you can bet I'm prioritizing food over everyone and everything else in existence. I don't care if you're my family, friend or a piglet with a jet-pack, you can wait until I'm finished. All of my love and attention is devoted to this chicken quesadilla.

10. But then you realize that the food on your campus is actual garbage.

You wouldn't dare waste this opportunity, though. Gross food is better than no food at all, so swallow your pride, then swallow some slop.

11. Occasionally you may decide to spend money you don't have at Taco Bell, because one day eating food that isn't from campus is totally worth it.

Sure, I only have $3.74 left in my checking account. That's alright though, because I'm ordering from the Dollar Cravings Menu tonight.

12. The rare occasions that your school attempts to put on a special event for the community.

The cookies are stale and you definitely bought your fireworks at Walmart, but I appreciate the effort.

13. When sketchy people slide into your DMs.

Why did people start doing this in college? This never happened to anyone in high school, but in college it's as normal as skipping classes. Yes, you are creepy. No, sliding into someone's direct messages and avoiding eye contact with them in person is not going to make them want you. This is the wrong approach.

14. When studying for finals week finally hits you.

Finals week is no joke. All of the studying is probably useless, though, especially because every 10 minutes of studying is followed by an episode of "Grey's Anatomy."

15. When your parents check in on you and you pretend that everything is OK.

I've been drunk for four days straight, I used up all my meal swipes for the week and I don't remember the last time I did any laundry, but it's fine. Everything is OK.

College is weird. That's really all there is to it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
