Life can be tough, there's no doubt about it. Our daily routines get tedious, we lose motivation, our schedules get overwhelmingly packed, and all of a sudden, there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done. I've been there, and I feel you. To combat the resulting lethargy, every day, I try to bask in the little things that help to make a bad day better and a good day fantastic. To hopefully help you find something (or a couple things!) to smile about today, I've compiled a list of what I think are some of the best everyday feelings in the world. Did any of them happen to you today?

1. Waking up and realizing that you still have an hour before you need to get up.

More sleep, you say? Well, don't mind if I do!

2. That minty, fresh taste in your mouth after you brush your teeth in the morning

Because, yikes, morning breath ain't no joke.

3. Putting on clothes that are fresh out of the dryer

It makes climbing out of your warm bed just a little easier.

4. Leaving the house with plenty of time to get to class/work/wherever you need to be

Oh good, I don't have to power walk, run, or speed in my car to get there on time.

5. Leaving the house feeling good about how you look that day

Looking so fresh and so clean, clean.

6. Walking past your crush while looking fly as aforementioned and saying something smooth because you're feeling confident in that fresh outfit you're wearing

Yeah, I'm feeling good today. You see this sassy smirk on my face? Yeah, that's the sassy smirk OF CONFIDENCE.

7. Calling for the elevator and having it be right there on your floor, waiting on you

There's just something so weirdly and wonderfully satisfying about that, isn't there?

8. Getting excited for your lunch break because you know you brought a bomb lunch with you and you're about to throw down

I'm not even eating out, so I'm saving money and calories! Watch out because I'm on fire today!

9. Finishing up a work project or school assignment in more than enough time

Nothing quite like the feeling of productivity and its payoff, and with some time to spare too!

10. Dropping all your things and plopping down on your couch at the end of a long day

The couch never feels more comfortable than the moment right after you get home from a full day of putting in work werk.

11. Knowing that you don't have to cook because there are leftovers in the fridge. Everything is better the second day anyway, right?

The flavors just marinate and amplify. At least that's what my parents always told me.

12. Sitting down to watch a new episode of your favorite TV show

Snacks? Check. Comfortable clothes? Check. Some sort of technological device to live tweet the whole thing? You better believe that's a check.

13. Climbing into bed and having the covers settle on top of you, and the warmth start to accumulate underneath

You know what I'm talking about. The covers start off just a little cool, but then everything gets nice and toasty warm and all is well.

14. Falling asleep knowing that something exciting is happening the next day

It's like that night of sleep is just a time machine to transport you to your exciting day, except it's a really great time machine because, let's be real, sleep is just really great.

I hope at least one of these things has already happened or will happen to you today, and that they made you smile and brought you joy in the midst of your daily grind. I also hope that, today, you are acutely aware of just how much Jesus loves you. Even if none of the 14 things on this list happened to you today, you can count on Jesus' love as a faithful #15 every single day, and that, my friends, is the most wonderful of things.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
