With the World Series going on, I figured I'd talk about something that usually happens with major sporting events: the emergence of bandwagon fans. Contrary to what most sports fans think, I actually don't think being a bandwagon fan is a bad thing. I think that the more fans there are, no matter the length of loyalty, there will be more discussion of sports and sports teams. Anything that can distract from the hardships we face is helpful, so who am I to judge bandwagoners? Rooting for a team makes the sport fun to watch. Thus, in this article, I will list ways to become a bandwagon fan. There are several ways to do so, and these are just the ones that I've figured out.

1. Start rooting for the team in the final(s)

2. Start rooting for the team as soon as they've made the playoffs

3. Rooting for a team because your friends root for the team

I was a Dolphins fan for a bit because my favorite middle school teacher liked them. I actually wore a jersey every now and then over the span of two years before I finally watched them play on tv in 2009.

4. Cheering for a team because your friends (or family) is rooting for the other team

The only reason I started to watch the New York Giants is because my dad was rooting for the Patriots in the Super Bowl in 2008. I made the right choice that year.

5. Actually looking up stats and then deciding between the two teams in the final(s)

6. Cheering for the team whose colors match the color clothing you're wearing

7. Cheering for whatever team you placed money on

8. Cheering for whatever team your friend didn't place money on

9. Cheering for the team who gets the most penalties, just to see if they get more penalties

10. Picking the team that hasn't won the World Series in 108 years because 108 years is a long time

Yep, that's me.

11. Picking your hometown team

12. Picking the team that has spring training in your hometown

13. Cheering for the team that constantly wins

14. Cheering for the team that constantly loses

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
