Whether you consider that Christmas in July is a real thing or you’re a firm believer that Christmas trees are only allowed to go up after Thanksgiving (I’m the latter), I’m sure that all of us can relate when I say that time flies. Christmas is in a mere 35 days, and let’s just be honest, I wore shorts last Thursday because it was still 80 degrees outside. I have found it very hard recently to get into the holiday spirit due to the fact that I simply don’tfeel like it’s this late in the year already. I still remember New Year’s Eve 2016 as if it was yesterday! If you also feel this way, I have found just a few ways to help with our lack of spirit:
- Watch the Hallmark movie channel and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" cartoon religiously.
- Make a Christmas List.
- Buy cute ornaments for the tree you’re going to put up the day after Thanksgiving.
- Find a rich, delectable hot chocolate recipe.
- Chill around the house with flannel pajamas or sweats.
- Visit Opry Land Hotel and see the Christmas lights.
- Light a pine or cinnamon scented candle.
- Make a holiday playlist of all of your favorite Christmas music.
- Bake holiday candy and desserts.
- Hang Christmas lights around the house; outdoor and indoor.
- Go Christmas shopping with friends.
- Go ice skating.
- Be ugly Christmas sweater game strong.
- Send out Christmas cards to your loved ones.
