14 Warm Weather Activities To Do State College

Sunday, March 20 marks the start of spring, meaning there are lots of new opportunities that the State College area holds. Spring brings warmer weather allowing us to spend more time outside enjoying more than just the now bearable walks to class compared to the snowy ones. Here are 14 new opportunities that you can try out this spring in State College, Pennsylvania:

1. The Berkey Creamery

Even though it is open during the winter, there is nothing like racing the heat to enjoy your creamery ice cream before it melts.

2. The Arboretum

The last time the Arboretum was festive was for fall with pumpkins and corn. Spring brings flowers and green grass and some great spots to enjoy the weather.

3. The Farmers Market

The winter market stays indoors during the cold months but once it gets warm they move the market back outside. Say hello colorful flowers, fresh produce and the yummy taco truck!

4. The Hot Air Balloon

When the weather is nicer and days are longer take up a balloon ride with your friend or current crush to watch the sunset. The Sky's The Limit Ballooning is located in Lemont, a short drive from campus.

5. The Gardens at the Hintz Family Alumni Center

The Alumni Center Garden may not be as big as the Arboretum but it shares the same calming nature atmosphere. Stop by the gazebo and pond welcome springs arrival.

6. A Lacrosse Game

It may not be even with a football game but the Men's Lacrosse team is always fun to watch. Sit on the hill with friends and bring some snacks to watch them play.

7. IM Sports

If you are looking to get active yourself or want some other sports to watch get the current IM schedule for this spring.

8. Pollock Courtyard

I knew spring was around the corner when last week I was walking through the Pollock courtyard and people were studying in the grass, playing frisbee and playing basketball in the late afternoon.

9. Old Main

The well known hangout spot of many students that fills up in between class where you catch up with friends.

10. Blue and White Game

The one time in the spring that we get to enjoy another football weekend! Don't miss out on this years game on April 16.

11. Eat Outdoors

Restaurants like Liberty, Inferno and The Tavern with many more offer outdoor seating to enjoy the weather while you dig in.

12. Climb Mount Nittany

If you want a great view of the area go climb the trails of Mount Nittany to really experience what spring looks like in State College.

13. Hershey Park

Hershey park is a great day adventure with your friends. Between the rides, the spa and the chocolate what more could you ask for at only an hour and a half away ?

14. Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park

Penn's cave is a great place to see the natural limestone formation or even see mountain lions and bears!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
