14 Times Lizzie McGuire Was The Best Character On TV

I remember buying my first ever "Lizzie McGuire" chapter book at my fourth grade book fair and absolutely hating it because I had already seen that episode on TV. The book may have been a waste of my time, but the show was my favorite.

We all have a little Lizzie McGuire inside us; she's awkward, quirky and down-to-earth. Honestly, there are far more than 14 times she was the best, but it's a start, right?

1. Her family might have annoyed her, but she loved them at the end of the day. How could you not love Sam, Jo and Matt?

2. Lizzie showed America that rhythmic gymnastics is a boss sport, especially, when she improvised when Larry worked for Kate and sabotaged her routine.

3. She was as terrible at gym class as we were. It inspired us to embrace our unatheletic and lanky preadolescent bodies. She even despised her teacher, Coach Kelly, as we all despised our P.E. teachers.

4. I have had dreams of red kick balls falling from the sky and me laughing with my friends and family. I hope everyone else had that dream, too.

5. Lizzie taught us what the friendzone was. Although I wish with all my heart that she married Gordo, it taught me a valuable lesson in the fifth grade.

6. Lizzie McGuire was not afraid to be herself. Those eccentric hairstyles were great and mixing patterns worked for her.

7. Kate could not touch Lizzie. Kate might have tried to bully Lizzie, but Lizzie was so strong and stood up to Kate. Kate was just jealous that Lizzie had cooler hair than her.

8. I honestly wanted Lizzie’s unicorn sweater that she was embarrassed to wear to picture day. I wish her grandma would knit that for me.

9. Ethan Craft, Aaron Carter and Danny Kessler – Lizzie had some cute love interests in the show. She was straight up in Aaron Carter’s music video.

10. Cartoon Lizzie was the sassiest little thing ever. She was as awkward as Lizzie but had a hot head when Kate was being mean.

11. Seriously, you could dress Lizzie up for school. Personally I would dress her for school, a party, hanging out with Miranda and a formal. Computerized Lizzie had a very busy schedule! And then you could dress Miranda (who is a completely underrated character).

12. You could also give Miranda a manicure, which was amazing! She had the coolest nail designs. I did not like that she could have creepy, long fingernails, though. That was just weird.

13. Lizzie was played by Hilary Duff, and we all have to admit that she is obviously the best Disney star ever! Do not pretend like you never reenacted “Come Clean” when it was raining outside. I will confess, even as a junior in college, I still do this. Anyone else?

14. Do not even get me started on "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," which was perfection!

God bless Disney Channel for continuing to show Lizzie McGuire late at nights! I actually watched it last week when I was up late studying and should have been studying.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
