Freshman year is a lot like Dunder Mifflin. Some days you get everything you needed to accomplished and other days you end up goofing off until 5PM. In honor of this, I have decided to compile a list of thoughts that I've had during my first semester of college using quotes from the one and only, Michael Scott.

1. When your parents go home and leave you at college.

I've spent the last 18 years counting down the days until I move out and go to college. Why do I suddenly miss everyone?!

2. When your 8am gets canceled.

Praise baby Jesus. Hallelujah. I didn't listen to everyone's advice when they told me not to sign up for an 8am. I thought I would be fine. High school started at 8 so I should be able to wake up for an 8am with no problem. Boy was I wrong. It is so much harder waking up in college than it was in high school.

3. When you have a herd of elephants living above you.

Do we have to put on our high heels and stomp around for hours every single night??? I'm trying to get some sleep you know...

4. When you're driving through campus on the weekend trying to not hit the drunk people stumbling out of the bars.

I have honestly heard some people say, "I hope that car runs me over. Then they have to pay for my tuition". WHERE IS THE LOGIC IN THAT?!

5. When it's 11:59pm and you remember you have an assignment due at midnight.

Nobody's perfect. You live and you learn it.

6. When you run out of money on your Tiger Card.

At the beginning of the semester I was excited to eat at Wellness for every meal because I thought my $1,000 meal plan was going to last forever. It's now November and I am realizing I eat way too much.

7. When you have to stake your territory in the bathroom.

Dorm bathrooms suck. You can hear everything, and I mean EVERYTHING.

8. When you have 2 papers due, a textbook to read, and a test in the morning but your friends still ask you to go out with them.

In the end I'll probably still end up going out with them because #FOMO am I right?

9. When you're walking down the concourse collecting all of the freebies.

I have accumulated at least 10 free tshirts this semester just from walking down the concourse. And don't even get me started on free donut day...

10. When you see a dog on campus.

This applies to all animals. Including Aubie.

11. When you're trying to get on the jumbotron in Jordan-Hare.

You're lying if you say you don't try to get on the jumbotron at least once every game.

12. When you call home and your family asks how you are.

It's fine, I'm fine.

13. When Thanksgiving break finally rolls around and you get to relax and eat turkey.

#BLESSED.

14. When you come back to campus after break.

Sweet home Alabama, WARRRR EAGLE!

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
