To the outside world BtVS may appear to be just another cheesy show. Something to watch when you want some mindless entertainment, but nothing of substance. That is the farthest thing from the truth. Any Buffy fan can tell you that not only has this show played a big role in the television we see today, but it is also a show that will break your heart and teach you many important life lessons along the way. Here are just a few of the times Buffy has touched the hearts of viewers. 1. "Giles, I'm sixteen years old. I don't wanna die."

It's not only the sentiment of this line, but also the way Gellar delivers it that causes a pang right in the heart.

2. "But I don't understand! I don't understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's, there's just a body. And I don't understand why she can't just go back into it and not be dead anymore. It's stupid. It's mortal and stupid. And Xander's crying and not talking. And I was having fruit punch. And I thought, well Joyce will never have anymore fruit punch. Ever. And she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair. Not ever. And no one will explain to me why!"

The famous Anya speech in "The Body." The whole episode is heartbreaking, but this scene really stands out. While Anya is an ex-demon, experiencing real human death for the first time, it is also incredibly relate-able to anyone who watches it. Willows response of "Because we don't know why" is a great testament to that.

3. Willow: "I mean, I tried to hope for the best. But... I'm sorry. It must be horrible."

Buffy: "I think horrible is still coming. Right now, it's worse. Right now, I'm just trying to keep from dying."

Willow: "Oh Buffy..."

Buffy: "I can't breathe Willow. I feel like I can't breathe."

Buffy experiencing the loss of her first love, even if he is a 243 year old vampire, is something almost everyone has gone through. And this scene really shows the pain she is going through.

4. Xander: "The first day of kindergarten, you cried because you broke the yellow crayon and you were too afraid to tell anyone. You've come pretty far. Ending the world - not a terrific notion... But the thing is... yeah, I love you. I love crayon-breaky Willow and I love scary, veiny Willow. So if I'm goin' out, it's here. If you wanna kill the world, well, then start with me. I've earned that."

Willow: "You think I won't?

Xander: "It doesn't matter. I'll still love you."

Every Buffy fan is familiar with the yellow crayon speech. Xander who is usually the comic relief of the show, talks Willow from destroying herself, by showing her how much he loves her. Gets me every-time.

5. "Everything here is... hard, and bright and violent. Everything I feel, everything I touch... this is hell. Just getting through the next moment and the one after that.

As someone who struggles with depression, I can attest to the fact that Buffy's struggle with depression is season six was as real as it gets.

6. Buffy: "What about me? I love you so much, and I tried to make you go away. I killed you and it didn't help. And I hate it! I hate that it's so hard... and that you can hurt me so much. I know everything that you did, because you did it to me. Oh, God! I wish that I wished you dead. I don't. I can't"

Angel: "Buffy, please. Just this once, let me be strong."

Buffy: "Strong is fighting! It's hard, and it's painful, and it's every day. It's what we have to do. And we can do it together. But if you're too much of a coward for that, then burn. If I can't convince you that you belong in this world, then I don't know what can. But do not expect me to watch. And don't expect me to mourn for you, because..."

When Angel tries to kill himself and Buffy saves him.Giving us inspirational quotes along the way.

7. "Dawn, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you. But this is the work that I have to do. Tell Giles... tell Giles I figured it out. And, and I'm okay. And give my love to my friends. You have to take care of them now. You have to take care of each other. You have to be strong. Dawn, the hardest thing in this world... is to live in it. Be brave. Live. For me."

Similarly, when Buffy makes the choice to give her life up for Dawns, she leaves us with some more words to live by.

8. Angel: "What's happening?"

Buffy: "Shhh. Don't worry about it. I love you."

Angel: "I love you."

Buffy: "Close your eyes."

Buffy has to kill a newly sentient Angel in order to stop the world from ending. The fact that Willow restores his soul just in time for the portal to open, leaving Buffy with no other option, is the worst part.

9. "What am I? Am I real? Am I anything?"

When Dawn finds out she's the key and struggles with her identity as a human.

10. Dawn: "Nobody's asking you to be Mom."

Buffy: "Well, who's gonna be if I'm not? Huh, Dawn? Have you even thought about that? Who's gonna make things better? (crying) Who's gonna take care of us?"

Dawn: "Buffy..."

Buffy: "I didn't mean to push you away, I didn't! I just... I couldn't let you see me."

Buffy breaks down in her first open and honest talk with Dawn about Joyce's death. What's so painful about this is that Buffy has been trying so hard to be the strong one, when really Dawn just needed her sister to grieve with her. It's beautiful scene.

11. "They'll never know how tough it is, Dawnie. To be the one who isn't chosen. To live so near to the spotlight and never step in it. But I know. I see more than anybody realises because nobody's watching me. I saw you last night. I see you working here today. You're not special. You're extraordinary."

Xander's speech to Dawn about being the ordinary people, surrounded with people who are special. What's so touching about this scene is that it shows that even average people are special. You don't need superpowers to be extraordinary.

12. Tara: "I got so lost."

Willow: "I found you. I will always find you."

When Tara's mind is restored to normal and WIllow promises to always find her. There love is God, let's go get a slushie.

13. Oz: It was stupid to think that you'd just be... waiting.

Willow: "I was waiting. I feel like some part of me will always be waiting for you. Like if I'm old and blue-haired, and I turn the corner in Istanbul and there you are, I won't be surprised. Because... you're with me, you know?"

Oz: "I know."

As much as I love Tara, my love for Oz maybe surpasses it. This scene where Oz returns to Sunnydale to find that Willow has already moved on, is tragic. Particularly this scene where Willow basically tells him he'll always be a part of her. He was her first love after all.

14. Buffy: "A minute? No.No. It's not enough time.

Angel: "We don't have a choice, it's done."

Buffy: "How am I supposed to go on with my life, knowing what we had? What we could've had?"

Angel: "You won't. No one will know but me."

Buffy: "Everything we did?"

Angel: "It never happened."

Buffy: "It did, it did, I know it did.... I felt your heart beat."

I'm cheating. This is actually a scene from Angel, when Buffy comes to visit and Angel becomes human for a day. Unfortunately he can't stay this way, for the safety of the world and ends up having the Oracles make him into a vampire again. His last minute with Buffy has always been the saddest scene in the entire Buffyverse for me. The fact that they had a taste of being together as humans and lost it. That Buffy won't remember the day they shared together. That Angel will. It's all so sad.

What do you think are the saddest Buffy scenes?

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
