Move-in day is upon us. It's time to say goodbye to your family and friends at home, pack your prized possessions, and return to the magical land of COLLEGE. The following thoughts always seem to cross my mind when moving into a new apartment - expressed through the (slightly) annoying, yet relatable, Corinne from "The Bachelor!"

1. I desperately hope my apartment is ready and there is not a problem with my keys.

Walking into the office for move-in is always nerve-wracking. A good first impression will go a long way, and student workers usually crumble under the pressure of a busy move-in day.

2. Oh yes management was great. And they had free candy!

Friendly and smiling faces welcoming you into a building is exciting, but there's nothing better than seeing free candy or welcome bags waiting for you.

3. I'm too excited to see the room, so I'm going to look at it before bringing all of my stuff.

Also if there's a problem with your keys, it's much better to find out now, rather than when the weight of moving boxes is causing the feeling to disappear from your arms.

4. WOW THIS KITCHEN.

Enough said. Beautiful countertops, lighting, and plenty of storage space in the kitchen makes for a happy college girl.

5. Hmm I'm not sure if four people can comfortably live in this space.

College-aged girls have a lot of stuff. A LOT. I will never believe a move-in between four girls in one small apartment will go smoothly, but it (usually) always does.

6. I pay parking by the hour, so I should probably actually start moving my stuff from the car instead of just standing here and admiring the apartment.

It's always fun to imagine how you will transform the empty room into your own personal space, but daydream as your carrying boxes, and don't waste time.

7. Wow, I brought up much more than I thought, I wonder if I need all of this.

I haven't worn this shirt in the past three years, but who knows, I might wear it once or twice. And ten pairs of shoes was probably unnecessary.

8. I am definitely getting my workout in for the day.

A flight of stairs to the second floor isn't that bad until my arms are numb, my quads are sore from climbing, and the only thing in the world I want to do is nap.

9. Or maybe the week.

Literally just leave me on this stairwell. I'll live here. I can't keep moving anymore.

10. I should go on Pinterest when I'm done unpacking and learn how to make the apartment aesthetically appealing.

I began preparing my Pinterest board for my apartment/house in middle school. I've been planning for years.

11. HOW DO I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF?

Yes, I do ask myself this at least twice during every move. And do I ever use all of it? NOPE.

12. I'm packing light next time.

I always say this, and then I always end up packing the same amount of items each time. I'm losing.

13. Debating between unpacking and napping.

There's a constant struggle of desperately wanting to be done packing, but also seriously needing a nap.

14. Falling in love with your new apartment.

You can finally sit back and enjoy your new place to call "home."

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
