14 Things to Tell Your Friends On Galentine's Day (by Leslie Knope)

No one does Galentine’s Day like Leslie Knope! As "Parks and Recreation" fans know, Galentine’s Day is a variation on Valentine’s Day, and it celebrates female friendships. Whether you’re in a relationship or not, this holiday is the perfect excuse for an all-female get-together. From hosting a party to going out with your friends, Galentine’s Day is always fun and, hopefully, a drama-free way to celebrate the holiday. So, to get you into the spirit, here are just a few things you could tell your friends on Galentine’s Day (as told by Leslie Knope). We can all learn something from Ann and Leslie's friendship. Feel free to go overboard with the compliments.

1. "You are a beautiful, talented, brilliant, powerful musk ox."

2. "You beautiful, naive, sophisticated newborn baby."

3. "You opalescent tree shark."

4. "I'll never lasso another heifer as fine as you."

5. "You are the most beautiful, glowing, sun goddess ever."

6. "You beautiful tropical fish."

7. "You rainbow-infused space unicorn."

8. "I mean, you're definitely gonna find a wonderful guy who loves you and respects you and fills your home with multi-ethnic genius babies."

9. "You beautiful sunflower."

10. "You beautiful spinster, I will find you love."

11. "Sperm that is worth of your perfect eggs does not grow on trees."

12. "But you are so brilliant and kind and stupid hot."

13. "You cunning, pliable, chestnut-haired sunfish."

14. "You poetic and noble land-mermaid."

Now that you've been inspired by Leslie and Ann's friendship, get out there and let your friends know what they mean to you!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
