When I came into college, everyone talked about how hard sophomore year is. I thought I would be immune to it, but I wasn't. It definitely was hard, but I also learned some valuable life lessons.

1. You really do need to work

During freshman year, the idea of off-campus housing and paying bills seems so far away. Sophomore year it hits like a truck

2. Having a car on campus is fun until it isn't

It's all fun and games until everyone wants rides and you're the only one who can drive

3. Finding off-campus housing is nearly impossible

There is no such thing as a "perfect" apartment or house or whatever.

4. If your schedule looks bad on paper, it's a lot worse in person

If you get exhausted just looking at your schedule, just drop a class. Seriously

5. Being 20 is kind of the worst

You're basically an adult, but you still can't go to bars.

6. You really do need to exercise

Not so much for weight, but for emotional stability

7. The friends you made freshman year aren't necessarily the best

I came to school sophomore year thinking I would be hanging out with a very specific group of people. I left sophomore year hanging out with a different group. They're still my friends, just not as close as I thought

8. Branch out of your circle

Seriously. Make friends with people you don't have class with

9. Tinder actually is dumb

It's just draining and stressful. It can be fun when done right, but don't let it consume your life

10. Don't date your best friend

Seriously. Even if you break up and stay friends, you will always have that small pang of resentment

11. You can be the only single friend and still be happy

It can be hard to be the only friend who isn't cuffed, but it shouldn't ruin your life

12. It's better to have multiple jobs you love than one you hate

Freshman year, I hated my job but I made a lot of money. This year, I have two jobs, but I love both of them.

13. If you don't make the right choices during the summer your academic year can be messed up

Seriously. If you spend your whole summer not caring about school and just focusing on work you will fall behind. Remember school exists.

14. Your best friend might quite literally be right behind you

There was a girl I became really close to this year only to find out she lived in the building behind me.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
