14 Things College Students Are Thankful For

Whether you think of November as that awesome time where shaving is optional, the time of year where eating more than usual is totally justified, or even just as the small transition period between Halloween and Christmas, November is here. In fact, it’s in full swing. Along with all the magic this wonderful month brings, the most important part is that it’s a time to be thankful. While the list could be endless, these are the main ones we college students could not live without.

1. Netflix

The preferred method of procrastination. And yes, Netflix, I am still watching.

2. Cookout

Thanks for being best solution for every late night craving.

3. Roommates

Thanks for accepting my weird habits, being down for spontaneous adventures and for multiplying my clothes options.

4. Uber

The most reliable designated driver there ever was.

5. Class cancellations

Opening this email almost brings the same feeling as waking up on Christmas day.

6. Sales

Being cheap comes with the territory.

7. Pizza

The most important food group.

8. Parents

Thanks for raising me, visiting me, always forgiving me and putting up with me.

9. Concerts

The most acceptable reason to splurge.

10. Coffee

Truly don’t know how life would go on without you; thanks for helping me stay awake every all-nighter I needed to pull to finish a paper or cram for a test.

11. Football

Thanks for making Saturday the best day of the week.

12. Long weekends

(Or any weekend, really.)

13. Thursday nights

They make the best “memories.”

14. Naps

Sleep all day, awake all night.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
