As college students, procrastination is something we know all too well. It is our best friend and our worst enemy, yet we still continue to do it. As much as it pains us, it is a part of our existence. No assignment can ever truly be completed until it is left for the very last minute. Here are the 14 stages of procrastination that we all experience.
1. Getting the assignment and listening to the professor explain the criteria.
2. Heading to the library because you're feeling motivated to get it done and out of the way.
3. Opening your laptop.
4. Checking Facebook. Checking Instagram. Checking your texts.
5. 10 hours pass and still nothing is done.
6. Deciding that you still have two weeks left until its due so you'll work on it another day.
7. Getting in bed and think "I really should start."
8. Resorting to scrolling through Instagram instead, since that's the wisest choice.
9. Repeating 1-8 until the day before the assignment is due.
10. Going to class the day before the assignment is due and telling your friends you didn't even start the project in hopes that they say "Me too."
11. Crying and regretting not doing the project earlier as you slave over your laptop at 3 a.m. trying to get the assignment done.
12. Handing the assignment in to the professor knowing that you put your blood, sweat and tears into it.
13. Swearing that you'll never procrastinate again.
14. Procrastinating again.
We will never learn.
