You’re in a car with your friends listening to Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” and life is good.
Music is something that can get you through a bad day or something you use to jam out with your friends. It gives you something to identify with when you’re sad, happy, or hurt, or lyrics to tweet about your ex with. Studies show that music is actually really healthy for you and your body, and has a positive impact on our lives. Below I have listed some of my favorite songs that you don't hear every day. You can thank me later.
So to all the college student’s reading, you’re probably procrastinating on that paper or some insane page number of reading due tomorrow, so procrastinate some more and take the time to listen to these songs I have listed because they are freaking awesome, and you’re really missing out without them.
1. "Superman" by Joe Brooks
Album: "Constellation Me"
This song has been on the top of my playlist since sophomore year of high school. Let's just say I love Joe Brooks and this song is first for a reason.
2. "No Matter Where You Are" by Us The Duo
Album: "No Matter Where You Are"
You might have seen their popular six second covers on Vine -- they have now created a whole album and are doing small tours around the country.
3. "Girls" by The 1975
Album: "The 1975"
If you don't know who The 1975 is, listen now. There are multiple memes that go around that nobody understands what they are saying, but I think it's great, and once you learn their style, you fall in love. "Girls" is one of their more pop version songs.
4. "Say You Like Me" by We The Kings
Album: "Sunshine State of Mind"
I feel like this might be a song people really jam out in their car to.
5. "My Heart is Open" by Maroon 5 ft. Gwen Stefani
Album: "Sugar"
This is the only duet I posted on this list. They literally kill this song together.
6. "Ghost" by Mat Kearney
Album: "Just Kids"
If you're missing someone because they left, here you go, friend.
7. "Hurricane" by Parachute
Album: "Overnight"
If the picture doesn't make you want to listen, then I don't know what would.
8. "What Do You Mean: Acoustic" by Justin Bieber
Album: "Purpose"
OK, please don't stop reading. I know what you're thinking, Justin Bieber? Really? This song is super catchy but just go listen to the acoustic version and your mind will be changed.
9. "Greek Tragedy" by The Wombats
Album: "Glitterbug"
If you want a song with a really cool meaning and a catchy beat, here is your newest pick.
10. "High by The Beach" by Lana Del Ray
Album: "Honeymoon"
Gosh, who doesn't love Lana Del Ray?
11. "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes
Album: "Handwritten"
Don't judge me and just listen to the catchy song.
12. "If You Don't Mean It" by Jon Peter Lewis
Album: "Break The Silence"
"Don't say the words if you don't mean it."
13. "My Heart Will Wait" by Joe Brooks
Album: "Constellation Me"
I highly recommend the Joe Brooks Pandora station if you're liking his songs.
14. "Robbers" by The 1975
Album: "The 1975"
This is a different kind of style from the song "Girls" that was earlier on the list, but you just come to love it and that's all that matters.
