Life throws many curve balls at you as you find your way through every experience. It can be the most amazing thing to behold. It can be excruciatingly hard to bare. It twists and turns and flips you upside down, but it is all worth it in the end. But how do you deal with the hard times? What makes you feel like everything will be okay in the end; that you will come out on the other side?

For me, it is music. And most specifically, it is Carrie Underwood's albums that I pull out when life has me in a bind.

1. Wheel of the World

As I said in the beginning, life has so many twists and turns as it makes it's very own carnival ride. The world keeps turning and it's your job to roll with it. Just remember that life is an adventure.

2. So Small

Do you ever feel like, no matter what you do, you end up failing? Not always, but just here and there sometimes. Maybe you're having a really bad week and nothing is going right.

3. Heartbeat

This song reminds me to take a breath and enjoy the natural wonders around us. While it can be super fun to go out for a night on the town with your significant other, it is even better to go somewhere private and just enjoy each other. You don't have to spend money, and you can just dance to the sound of their heartbeat underneath the stars.

4. Play On

When you are going through life and things keep knocking you down, listen to this song. Whether it is sickness, work related, bad relationships, friend drama, etc. this song will speak to you. It is okay to make mistakes, just learn from them and "play on".

5. Cowboy Casanova

Do you have a guy that you just can't get enough of You've heard all these rumors about him being bad news but you don't listen because you can't help yourself. You talk to him and he says all the right things, but when he's not with you he does all the wrong things? Well, I have been stuck in this web before and it's a hard thing to break.

6. Before He Cheats

Once a cheater, always a cheater. There may be some people out there that just made a mistake and they will never do it again, but most of the time, they will keep doing it. Especially if you stay with them. If they can do it once and get away with it without losing you, what's going to make him stop? Carrie has the right idea here. I'm not condoning vandalism, but I am condoning the fact that you should make sure that he can never cheat on you again. Kick him to the curb!

7. See You Again

I played this song so much when I found out that my significant other had to leave me for a year. It was probably the main song I listened to on the four hour drive to college after watching his bus leave for the airport. I yelled, I cried, we fought, but in the end it was just because I didn't want to say goodbye for that long. Then there was this song and it made me feel stronger. If you are missing someone close to you, this song is a good one to listen to.

8. Some Hearts

I can remember the first time I heard this. I was sitting on the floor of my best friends room while we talked about boys. We were all crushing on someone and this song just made us feel even more twitterpated. It gave us the courage to send that text and tell them that we liked them. Let me tell you, it turned out pretty great. Now looking back at it, I just smile thinking about how silly it was.

9. The Night Before (Life Goes On)

Everyone who has been in a long distance relationship has experienced this song. Maybe not the logistics, but the feeling it talks about. It sucks. Listening to this song could either make you cry, or it can make you feel like you're not alone. Either way, it will help you relieve some of the feels you're experiencing and remind you that life will go on.

10. The More Boys I Meet

I remember when I was so upset over a break up and I listened to this song. It was pretty therapeutic. I was sweeping the kitchen floor with my earbuds in and singing as loud as I could. But, in my case, it was my cat instead of dog. Don't understand? Listen to the song and you will.

11. Crazy Dreams

This is one of the best songs to jam to in the car! Need some motivation? Feeling like you are the odd one out? Listen to this song and celebrate your unique qualities. Do you have people telling you that you're crazy for dreaming big? Don't listen to them. Even crazy dreams come true as long as you reach for them.

12. Mama's Song

I listened to this over and over again. I am so close to my mom, and to hear a song like this was amazing. There are not a lot of song out there dedicated to the women who bring us into this world, so this will always be a favorite.

13. Unapologize

Do you ever feel so mortified after letting something slip that you weren't ready to say out loud? Play this song and just embrace it. Own what you said if you really feel it. Don't apologize for things that you feel and believe in.

14. Wine After Whiskey

There is a rule out there that says don't drink beer or wine before you have hard liquor. While that might be a good lesson learned, the real message of this song is understanding that giving up a relationship where you were in love can be difficult. But it can also be the right choice. Even if any relationship after them doesn't feel as intense as the one before, no man is worth going through a life of hurt.

Carrie Underwood has gotten me through a lot growing up and still is. It seems like there is always a song out there that will help with anything life throws at our way.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
