14 Signs You Grew Up In The Early-Mid 2000s

Oh the early 2000s, how I miss you. You had some of the greatest and most iconic tv shows, toys, movies and anything else you can think of. Sometimes, I even miss you!

1. You weren't cool if you didn't have one of these

Everybody had a razor phone, and if you didn't you were outcasted and you begged your parents for one. This was probably the equivalent to an iPhone. Everybody just had to have one. Even I wanted one, hence why nobody liked me.

2. You spent more time caring for your tamagotchi than your homework

That was your own virtual pet! You couldn't just let it starve. When it came down to it, it was either fail history or save a life. I remember I nearly got in trouble a few times with mine. I wouldn't want it any differently

3. After you were done caring for your tamagotchi pet, you went on AIM to talk to your bff

You'd talk about your crush with secret code names and your username was something along the lines of 2kool4u or something like that. I forget what mine was.

4. Myspace

Everyones internet addiction before facebook.

5. RIP to everyones neopets

Neopets was something I could never get into, but most of my friends had one and I swear that's all we ever did.

6. Skip-It

If it was a nice day out, you'd grab your skip it and you'd have a skipping competition with all of your friends. I'm pretty sure I was the champ at this!

7. Webkinz

Pretty sure this was neopets competition. This was what I was into. All you had to pay for was the stuffed animal that came with the code. Now you can make an account and get a free pet, but you only get one free pet.

8. Mr. Owl..

"Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?"

9. Club Penguin

The only virtual world website any teacher would let you on.

10. BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY

You saw that TV in your science classroom and you knew that it was about to be lit. Throwback to when the entire class would sing along to the theme song.

11. The Magic School Bus

Even if you didn't get to watch bill nye, you still had the magic school bus. Wasn't as great, but it was the next best thing.

12. You'd watch the Amanda Show after school

The Girls Room, Totally Kyle, let's not forget Penelope Tate. Amandas #1 fan. This was one of my favorite nick TV shows. It only lasted a few short years, but I remember watching re-runs

13. Then After the Amanda Show, you'd watch Drake and Josh

America's favorite boobs.

14. You still want to know why Chase and Zoey never ended up together on Zoey 101

They belonged together! They couldn't live without each other! Though Dan Schneider did release a clip of what was in the time capsule 10 years after the time capsule aired. You can watch the clip here:

but we still don't know if they lived happily ever after or not.

So if you recognize any one of these 14 things then you are definitely grew up in the early-middle 2000s.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
