My roommate moved out after our tenth day of living together on campus. We just weren't a good match for each other. I thought I would not having any friends and be miserable not having a roommate, but little did I know that it is the best!

1. You can go to sleep whenever you want

A main issue between my ex-roomate and me was that she liked to go to sleep early, and I liked to go to sleep late. When you don't have a roommate, you don't have to worry about anyone's sleep schedule but your own, so you can go to bed at whatever time you want!

2. You don't have to worry about waking anyone up, or being woken up in the morning

There will be times when you have an 8 a.m. class and your roommate doesn't, so you will set up an annoying alarm clock and need to have the light on to get ready in the morning. Without a roommate, you won't have to fear that you will wake your crabby roommate up.

3. You don't have to worry about being super neat

This is my dorm room after I cleaned it up. It took 3 hours of cleaning in order for my dorm to look this beautiful. When I had a roommate, I was super careful keeping my side of the room neat. Once my roommate moved out, I did not HAVE to be neat. I had the freedom to be as messy or neat as I wanted. However, the satisfaction you have after cleaning your dorm makes you feel really great!

4. If you are living by yourself in a double room, instead of a single room, you have a lot of space to spread out

A few weeks after my roommate moved out, I moved some of my things to the other side of the room, so my side wouldn't feel as crowded. Using the other side is a great privilege, but don't get to comfy because there is a strong chance that you might get another roommate. Enjoy the extra space, while you have it!

5. You can study in your dorm without any distractions

When I had a roommate, it was hard for me to concentrate on my schoolwork. This is because I worked better at night, and she wanted to sleep. Now that I am living alone, I can study and work on my homework at anytime of the day, without anyone telling me that I can't.

6. You can be naked in your room, and nobody would know

One thing that worried me about having a roommate was being seen naked, or seeing my roommate naked. I had to come up with creative ways of covering myself, while getting dressed. Now I don't have to cover myself, nor do I have to worry about being seen naked. There is no longer a need for me to rush while getting dressed. Just make sure you keep the shades of your window closed, otherwise you may be like me and wonder how many people have seen you naked.

7. You can have friends over without asking anyone for permission

When you have a roommate, you can't invite friends over unless you ask your roommate for permission first. Although I rarely have people over in my dorm, because I usually socialize outside of my dorm, I can spontaneously invite people over and nobody can stop me.

8. You don't have to worry about being too loud

During the first few nights of living on campus, I would FaceTime my parents and my roommate would get annoyed, so I had to leave my dorm in order to talk to them. Now, since it gets sometimes lonely in my dorm, I talk to my parents whenever I want in the privacy of my own dorm room.

9. You can talk to yourself and nobody else would know

Since, I don't have a roommate, there are times when I talk to myself. I am pretty sure everyone talks to themselves, but the difference no one can eavesdrop on your private conversations with yourself, when you don't have a roommate.

10. You don't have to worry about making anyone mad

Again, the only person you need to worry about is yourself. Without a roommate, you can do whatever you want whenever you want and won't have to worry about starting a fight with your roommate.

11. You don't have to worry about your roommate getting you sick

I am a huge germophobic and I had fear that my roommate would get sick and give it to me. Now that I am living on my own, I can get sick and live surrounded by my own germs, without worrying about getting my roommate sick, or worrying about catching anyone else's germs.

12. You don't have to worry about being kicked out of your room

My biggest fear, before starting college, was walking into my room and seeing my roommate have sex on my bed. If that ever happened to me I probably will freak out so much to the point that I would have to drop out. Now that I don't have a roommate, I don't have to worry about being kicked out of my dorm, or my biggest fear coming true, just as long as I keep the door locked when I am gone.

13. You don't have to worry about someone else's living habits

When you live with someone, even if you were friends with them your whole life, you learn that people live differently than you. Without a roommate, you don't have to worry about accepting someone else's annoying or disgusting living habits, you only need to worry about your own.

14. And finally, YOU make the rules

For the first time if your life you are living on your own and you are in charge of yourself. You make the rules and while this may be scary, it is a great opportunity to learn more about yourself. Living on my own has been a great experience and has made me a more independent person. It shows me that I can do this; I have the ability to survive college and live on my own!

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
