Christmas is a magical time for everyone. Sparkling lights and decorated trees fill every open space giving everything that special charm, but Christmas in NYC is something special. The whole city changes during the winter. Living in NYC during this time spoils you for life, because it is like nothing else.
1. The Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Although not quite Christmas, you get to see the huge balloons, celebrities on their show floats, and your favorite singers. At the end you get what starts the Christmas season...an appearance from our favorite guy, Santa! It's exciting even if you just watch it on TV. Also the Purina dog show after...puppies!
2. The Christmas Spectacular.
You've seen it at least once and every time you see it you walk out wishing you were a Rockette.
3. Rockefeller Center.
If you're from NYC, you make the yearly trip to Rockefeller Center to see the tree. Whether it's with your friends or your special someone, you have tons of pictures to prove it that it's not just for tourists.
4. Sak's Fifth Avenue Light Show.
Probably one of the coolest things you've seen...and it gets better every year!
5. The Macy's Christmas Windows.
Much Christmas. Very wow.6. FAO Schwarz during Christmastime.
It will make you feel like you're a child again.
7. Ice skating in Bryant Park.
Even if you can't ice skate, it's definitely a must.
8. The 6th Avenue Ornaments.
They're larger than life!
9. You can buy Christmas trees on the side of the street.
Easy enough, right?
10. Central Park literally looks like a post card.
Nothing like a carriage ride through the snow.
11. The Dyker Heights Christmas lights.
Christmas. Overload. (How high do you think their electric bill is?)
12. The Holiday Markets.
Everything you could want and more.
13. The snowy stoops.
It gives the already charming houses even more charm.
14. Everything gets that little Christmas charm.
Even the lions at the New York Public Library celebrate Christmas!
Living in NYC is already amazing in itself. One of the busiest cities with opportunities galore. There is never a shortage of things to do whether it's shopping, getting food, or going to concerts, there is always something to try. Living in NYC during Christmas is even more amazing.
