14 Reasons To Be Thankful For Your Siblings

Growing up with 3 siblings has been such a blessing. Whether you have younger or older siblings, I can tell you life wouldn’t be the same without them. From family vacations, birthdays, and life events, siblings make your life that much better to experience it with. Here are some reasons why you should be thankful for them.

  1. They’ve always got your back.
  2. They keep life interesting. There is never a dull or silent moment with them around.
  3. They push you to be a better person, everyday.
  4. Even when you make mistakes, they’re always there to help you.
  5. They give the best advice. They know you the best, so they know what’s good for you.
  6. Fighting only makes you closer. Everyone has fights, but with siblings you always make up and become closer after.
  7. If you’re older, you’re blessed with a younger life that you get to live vicariously through.
  8. If you’re younger, you get to learn from your older siblings. They’ve been through everything you have, so be thankful you have them.
  9. They are always down to eat. Sibling feasts are common. You always have someone who will grab lunch or dinner with you.
  10. Conversation. You always have someone to chat it up with. Because they know you so well, it makes the conversation that much better.
  11. Truth. Siblings always tell you when your outfit is bad, your makeup is too much or you smell. They’re always willing to tell you the truth even if it terribly hurts your feelings.
  12. Random shenanigans. You always have someone to do random activities with. And it always ends up for a great story later on.
  13. Vacations. What would trips be without the company of your siblings.
  14. Love. No matter how much you mess up, you’re siblings are always there to love you and help.

All in all, your life wouldn’t be the same without your crazy siblings. Take time to thank them for all they’ve done and remember to be thankful for them and the spark they add to your life.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.

If you’re from the Midwest, it seems to be that winter lasts for what feels like forever. But despite the struggles that winter brings, there are so many things to love about it.

Thanksgiving Break is most likely everyone’s favorite break during the fall semester. You get to go home and reminisce with all your high school friends. That diet you’ve been on for the past month goes out the window, and you get to eat until you put yourself into a food coma. There’s no rush on homework and you can just lie in bed and Netflix to your heart’s content. To me that sounds like an ideally wonderful break, and totally stress-free.
