In almost all cases, pets are better than people. No offense to the wonderful people in my life, but pets are so much more relaxed and easygoing at all times. Whether it be a cat or dog, or something more unique, having a pet is way better than having a significant other. Here's just a few reasons why.

1. Cuddles all the time.

Sometimes the people you date just aren't in the mood to cuddle. This is not true about pets; they are always in the mood.

2. They're easy to shop for.

Trying to buy something that your S.O. will love can be a real pain (and they're not always appreciative either). Pets are totally fine with some extra treats or a toy, and they're really good at showing gratitude.

3. Deciding where to get food is way less stressful.

Since you're the only one that will really be eating, your opinion is the only one that matters! (Although I'm sure the canine friends will love the leftovers.)

4. It doesn't matter what you wear.

Your pets won't mind if you wear pajamas three days in a row or designer clothing. They're going to lay all over you and cover it in hair no matter what.

5. Shaving is totally not required.

Not that it is in the first place, but if you're the type of person who shaves to impress others, your pets really don't care if you do or not. It's up to your personal preference.

6. Makeup? You can pass.

Again, if you're a makeup-wearing person, you don't have to get all dolled up for just your pets either. (They've seen you at your worst anyway, and still love you.)

7. Constant Netflix buddy.

There's no fighting about what to watch, no judgement over how long you watch, and no complaining that you could be doing something more productive or active. And they're the perfect partner for crying when your favorite character dies.

8. They don't care for small talk.

There's no need to fill the silence with questions about classes, work, family, or the weather. Even better, pets don't understand politics so that doesn't even need to be brought up!

9. They won't argue with you.

Although arguing is a sign of a healthy relationship, no one enjoys it very much. With pets, arguments are a nonissue (unless you forget to feed them).

10. Built-in bed warmers.

Pets are known for claiming well over half of the bed, which can be irritating if you're already in bed, but great if you're not there yet and they're warming up the sheets for you.

11. Wonderful book buddies.

Although some dogs need to get up and run, most pets are content to curl up by your side or feet while you read a good book. (And again, are there for you when your favorite character dies.)

12. Won't complain about looking bad in pictures.

Some S.O.'s are particular about how they look in pictures, or what kinds of pictures they're willing to take. Pets are typically more accommodating, but might not be too happy about being put in costumes (even though they look super cute).

13. Happy just to be in your presence.

Pets don't need fancy dinners or expensive dates to be happy. As long as you're nearby (and feeding them), they'll be perfectly fine.

14. Unconditional Love.

People you date may come and go, but pets will be around for much longer (and supportive through all of your breakups). No matter what caused the breakup, your pets will still be there and will still think that you're the greatest person in the world.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
