President Barack Obama's ratings continue to increase as his final term in office draws to a close. The American public is beginning to realize what a great leader he truly is and all he has done and continues to do to better this great country we are so fortunate to live in. However, all this great work will be quickly undone if Donald Trump is elected to be our 45th president which has gotten me to thinking. How many people in this world would be better for our country than Mr. Trump? Here is a list of 14 people who I know would do a better job than him:

  1. Ellen DeGeneres: I think “Be kind to one another,” is a great campaign slogan.
  2. Dora the Explorer: Great leadership skills, solid negotiation tactics, a female of color, need I say more? She’s everything Trump isn’t and more. Plus she comes with her own monkey and backpack. What are Donald Trump’s accessories? His wig?
  3. Samantha Jones: While Carrie Bradshaw may be the leader of the ladies of Sex and the City, Samantha’s power, connections and finesse get them where they need to be. I’m sure she could do the same for this country, and in five inch Manolo Blahniks which is not something Donald Trump can't say.
  4. Anna Wintour: Her hair versus his hair, who do you want to be the face of this country?
  5. My cat: Ok, I’ll admit I may be biased with this choice, but if we’re letting animals run for president why not just let Louisa May give it a shot?
  6. Beyoncé: She gets more done in 24 hours than Donald Trump has in his entire life, and looks a lot better while she’s doing it too.
  7. Dr. Meredith Grey: She’s solved every problem Shonda Rhimes has thrown at her. Who says she can't solve this country's problems too?
  8. Olivia Pope: See above
  9. Annalise Keating: See above
  10. A #TGIT hybrid: Trump wouldn’t stand a chance.
  11. My best friend Becca: She personally promised she would instate free pizza for everyone once a week if she became president. I don’t think Trump could trump that.
  12. Lena Dunham: I can’t imagine the United States without Lena Dunham. She threatens she’ll move to Canada if Trump wins! Let's make this amazing woman's dreams come true and elect her candidate of choice
  13. Michelle Obama: First lady, first female president, let’s save this woman the trouble of having to move out of the White House and just elect her as our next president. Look how at home she looks in the Oval already!
  14. Ruth Bader Ginsburg: With a nickname like the Notorious RBG and enough experience to put just about any politician to shame, I’m surprised she hasn’t transitioned from the Bench to the House yet.

Did I list all women? Oh gosh, silly me. Too bad there isn’t a highly qualified, progressive, female candidate who would do a wonderful job both representing and running our country. Wait a second, there is! While there is quite the extensive list of people (and animals) that are either male or female, real or imaginary who would do a better job in the Oval Office than Donald Trump, our best choice is the one, the only, Hillary Clinton. So get educated, get informed and most importantly get ready to vote in this historic election!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
