My Mamaw was loved by anyone who knew her. She had such a quiet strength that you couldn't help but notice it. Mamaw was one of the greatest supporters of my sisters and me. She was at every piano recital, choir concert, tennis match, honor society induction, award ceremony, and bid day. This past summer Mamaw went to be with the Lord, but she taught me priceless life lessons that I'll carry with me always.
1. You can never go wrong with Chick-Fil-A nuggets.
2. Treat yoself to a candy bar and a Dr. Pepper.
3. The less said the better.
You don't have to answer every question someone asks and it's okay to act like you don't hear them at all!! Thanks for the sass, Mamaw.
4. ALWAYS have a Kleenex on you.
Up your sleeves, in your purse, in your pockets. Everywhere.
5. If you can't change the outcome then don't worry about it.
6. Sometimes you have to make up your own songs.
7. If something's wrong with everyone else, it's you.
8. How to fold a fitted sheet.
9. Be content with the simple things.
10. To have a friend you must be one.
11. Always close your windows up tight at night.
12. Keep your purse on your knee at all times while in public.
13. Cover your face in lotion to keep a youthful look.
Seriously though. She was 98 and looked better than most 30 year olds.
14. The greatest decision you will ever make is trusting your life to God.
My mamaw was the best. She loved me most on my worst days. She showed me what it truly means to have Christ-like Love. I hope to be half the woman and grandmother she was one day.
