14 Day Challenge

Improve your life in two weeks

14 Day Challenge
Love It So Much

I’m sure many of you opened this expecting to see a week long diet plan or a workout challenge. What if we worked on our kindness as much as we worked on a set of abs? It takes so little to make such a big impact on somebody else’s day. There’s a story behind every person and there is a reason why they are the way they are. Everyone has struggles that we know nothing about and your actions could result in a significant change in their life. How you make others feel about themselves, says a lot about you. So in these next two weeks, do one random act of kindness each day. Use the goodness of God to help you feel wholesome simply from being kind to others.

Day One

Have flowers delivered to your parent’s home with a nice message.

Day Two

Text five friends or family members and explain why you love and appreciate them.

Day Three

Open the door for somebody and tell them to have a good day.

Day Four

Make cookies or bars for someone that you feel is not shown appreciation very often, such as a janitor or your mailman.

Day Five

Go to a local nursing home and sit with the residents while they eat a meal.

Day Six

Pay for the person behind you in the drive-thru at a restaurant.

Day Seven

Volunteer at a soup kitchen.

Day Eight

Go out of your way to introduce yourself to somebody that you always see but don’t really know.

Day Nine

Send your professor or coach an e-mail thanking them for all of their hard work and preparation.

Day Ten

Let someone go in front of you in line or allow someone to merge when you’re driving.

Day Eleven

Compliment a stranger.

Day Twelve

Volunteer at your local animal shelter.

Day Thirteen

Purchase some toys and bring them to the children’s hospital.

Day Fourteen

Go through your old clothes and donate them to the salvation army.

You are what you do, not what you say you'll do. Go be the light in someone's day.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

165
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
