14 Affordable Spring Break Ideas

With Spring Break slowly creeping up, it's time to start thinking of ideas on what to do. If you're like me, and trying to save money over break, here are a few things you can do over Spring Break on a budget.

1. Volunteer abroad.

Whether it may be through your University, or through an organization, there are plenty of opportunities to go to awesome places for a great cause. Though they may be pricey, you can easily fundraise to get to go for cheap.

2. Stay in a hostel.

These are found everywhere in America, though they are more common in Europe, they are really starting to become more popular here in the U.S. Check out some Hostels here!

3. Visit another friend at a different college.

Most of the time, different colleges have different break times. So, connect with a friend and stay for free!

4. Sleep at home.

The easiest, most wonderful, and comfiest way to spend a vacation.

5. Live out of your car for the week.

Live on the edge, rough it for a bit, pack your car and head out to a place you've always wanted to go. Fill it with camping gear, and camp out along the way. No need to pay for hotels when you have a car and a tent!

6. Stay at a bed & breakfast.

Spend a few nights out and treat yourself to a Bed and Breakfast stay. Find your nearest Bed & Breakfast here!

7. Campout.

There are plenty of camp spots, near you, maybe some you have never even known about. Take a group of friends, get rid of your phones, and truly enjoy a vacation the right way -- the affordable way.

8. Explore your own city.

Especially if you have never done it before, be a local tourist! Do the exciting things that people come to your city for, you'll be surprised in how fun it is.

9. Rent out a cabin with friends.

Gather five or six people, split the cost for a cabin for a couple nights. One of the cheapest ways to have a guaranteed good time!

10. Have a Netflix binge watch extravaganza.

Save money, watch Netflix. Always.

11. Visit a family member.

Have a family member in a cool state? Contact them and give them a visit. Stay for free, eat for free and have a great time.

12. Go to the nearest amusement park.

Even though at some points this can get pricey, there are always Groupons out there for Amusement Parks!

13. Find local, free music events around town.

Nothing is better than a free concert. Break is a great time to check out some artists and have a night out on the town with friends!

14. Try something new.

Whether it may be snowboarding, camping, going to the beach, taking a cooking class or going to yoga. Take advantage of your free time and try something you've never done!

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.
