I have worn glasses for basically whole life. I don't feel myself unless I have them on. From this, I have heard the same things over and over again. Here are 13 things you hear and experience if you wear glasses:
1. "Can I try your glasses on?"
I cannot even count the number of times people have asked to try on my glasses. I don't quite understand why they want to, but hey why not?
2. "Do you ever wear contacts?"
If someone wears glasses regularly, it takes a really special occasion for us to not wear our glasses. I am uncomfortable not wearing them and I feel no need to wear contacts.
3. When it rains and everyone worries about their hair usually and we have to worry about being able to see.
4. And thinking every time it rains how convenient it would be to have tiny windshield wipers on our glasses.
5. "Should we see it in 3-D?"
Uhm, no please no.
6. A perk is that if we screw up our makeup a little bit no one will really be able to tell!
7. When you have a smudge on your glasses and you try and wipe it and just end up making the whole lens dirty and instantly hating yourself for it.
8. Trying to lay down on your side like a normal person and quickly realizing it was a huge mistake.
9. Not knowing if you should risk loosing your glasses on a roller-coaster or having to dealing with taking them off and on.
10. We all know what happens when we drink a hot drink...
or open the dishwasher.. or the oven... or go outside on a hot day... or get out of the shower.. or wear a scarf in winter.. yes foggy glasses which make it impossible for us to see anything
11. Wanting to wear sunglasses but also wanting to be able to see what you're doing.
So you get prescription sunglasses and forget to take them off inside and becoming "that person" that wear sunglasses indoors.
12. "You look so pretty without your glasses!"
Uhm, thank you! I think?
13. Getting over excited when you finally get a new pair and feel like a whole new person
Despite all the problems that come with wearing glasses, you wouldn't want it any other way!
