Dear 13 year old Me,

I know life is tough. You have only lived 13 years, and you have been through a lot; loss, bullying, depression, anxiety, etc. Even in the times where it feels like you want to give up, don't. Your life has so much more to offer. Below are some reason you should keep being strong.

1. You meet amazing friends.

I know you have had a hard time finding friends that will stick around. You finally meet 3 wonderful ladies (and many more lovely friends) that are supportive and caring. They laugh with you, cry with you, and understand what you are going through.

2. You graduate.

Even though this day feels so far away, it is closer than you think. Cherish the moments and opportunities you have in high school. It may feel dreadful at times, but everything is happening for a reason. Stay strong and do your best work.

3. You get to travel.

You get the chance to visit Europe with your amazing father. All in one trip you fly in a plain, ride a train, and travel by subway. You will have the best time, and be able to move past some anxieties. Have fun on your adventures.

4. You go to college.

At times it may feel impossible or that you aren't smart enough; but it isn't, and you are. You find an amazing university to call home, and meet some wonderful people. Sometimes it is hard, but you move past the difficult times and pursue your dreams.

5. You conquer your fears.

All these things may seem scary right now; meeting new people, graduating, travel, college, etc. You will fight through a lot of your fears, and anxieties. You become strong in your faith and in your life. It will all be worth it in the end.

So keep on fighting, and do not give up on yourself. You have so much to offer, and you have no idea.

Love,

21 year old You

P.S. Dont get bangs.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
