If you're from Northern New York, you know there are some distinct things that make you different from the rest of New Yorkers.
1. You have a strong love for Stewart's Shops. Especially for their milkshakes.
2. You are closer to Canada than any other state.
3. You get offended when you tell people you're from New York and they automatically assume New York City.
4. You are not phased by the snow or the cold because you've dealt with it your whole life.
5. You get annoyed at people who do not know how to drive in the snow.
6. You are beyond biased towards all Syracuse sports team because Northern New Yorkers all bleed blue and orange.
7. In your hometown, there is nothing to do in the winter.
8. No one ever knows the name of your hometown so you have to use a larger city like Syracuse when explaining where you're from.
9. Small town diners are everywhere and they're you're favorite places to go.
10. You've probably crossed the border into Canada just for dinner.
11. You're more familiar with Tim Horton's coffee than Dunkin' Donuts.
12. It can be negative 20 degrees outside and snowing and you'll still have to go to school.
13. You love hockey and your Friday nights were usually spent at the rink.
