"Jane the Virgin" is a popular TV show on CW. The main character, Jane Villanueva, was artificially inseminated and ended up having a baby even though she's a virgin. Crazy right? The show becomes even crazier as it progresses, which is why it's so captivating. Here is how "Jane the Virgin" perfectly describes college.

1. When you're hanging out with your family and then your crush calls.

2. When you tell yourself you won't regret registering for 8ams but then the semester actually starts...

3. When you come back to campus after winter break.

4. When the professor starts lecturing on syllabus day.

5. When you finally see your friends after winter break.

6. When you're in the same class as your friend, and you can't help but be a little goofy.

7. When your crush asks you out (does that even actually happen?)

8. When you and your best friend mutually hate someone.

9. When you're in class.

10. When your friend says that you should ask him out.

11. When you finally have food that's not from the dining hall.

12. When your friend's on a date with a guy that you completely approve of.

13. When you completely screw up and your friends try to make you feel better.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
