We've all been waiting months for the much-anticipated sequel to the infamous "Finding Nemo." This movie had a lot of hype and a lot of expectations to live up to. I do think they did a nice job, especially with baby Dory.
Overall, it was another job well done by Pixar, but there were certain parts of the movie that deserve some recognition.
1. There is no way this will live up to "Finding Nemo."
We knew they would find her eventually, whereas Nemo was a real nail-biter. Would he make it back to the anemone? We had no way of knowing.
2. Dory has great contouring skills.
She is perfectly hitting that T-zone with the highlighter. Nose looks very petite.
3. Ellen Degeneres is the best human to exist, ever.
As if her immortal looks weren't enough, then she has to go and be hilarious all over Pixar.
4. Is that Phil from "Modern Family"?
"Wait, I know this voice from somewhere, this is going to bother me."
5. If one more thing goes wrong, I'm going to lose it.
One disaster after another after another after another. What did we ever do to you, Pixar?
6. How did nobody in the park acknowledge the octopus operating a stroller?
I know anything is fair game in animation, but I think the characters should have shown slightly more concern about the stroller cruising full speed through the park without a human.
7. Octopi can camouflage? Since when?
I must have blacked out during science class in elementary school because this is brand new information.
8. Is Echo Vision real?
So, I Googled it, and it turns out echolocation (its proper term) is indeed a capability of select animals. I am learning so much about marine life.
9. Dory is in a Nalgene bottle! Neat!
I couldn't find an image, but I know you all saw it, too.
10. Why Jenny and Charlie? Who was on the creative team for this?
Those are lovely names, don't get me wrong, but is this the best we could do?
11. Oh Marlin, you need to chill.
Marlin, relax, you are going to get wrinkles.
12. Baby Dory sounds like Marcel the Shell.
Definitely related. I would like to see a family tree.
13. Come on Becky!
The frustration in watching this creature was almost too much to handle.
I know you all had these same 13 thoughts running through your head in the theaters. While I don't think this quite lived up to "Finding Nemo," I did enjoy seeing my marine pals on screen again; it really brought me back to the good, old days. Overall, Pixar never really disappoints, and I wonder when "Finding Marlin" is going to start filming.
