13 Things You'll Need for Pokemon Go

Just last week, I honestly knew nothing about Pokemon. Now? I still know pretty much nothing about Pokemon. But yet, I try my darnedest to catch them. Why? Because there is something wonderfully addictive about Pokemon Go. That's why you keep hearing about it! You might be thinking that it takes a lot of work to figure out this game and that it can't be as good as everyone says it is, but boy oh boy, would you be wrong. You only need thirteen quick things to have a blast with Pokemon Go...

1. A Pokemon Master

If you know nothing about Pokemon, you need someone to teach you. How else would you decide which team to pick or which Pokemon to start with?

2. Patience

Pokemon don't just stroll up to you and ask to live in your Pokeballs. YOU have to catch THEM! And sometimes, it doesn't work the first time.

3. Spare Time

Like I just said, Pokemon don't just stroll up to you and ask to live in your Pokeballs.

4. Pokeballs

Catching Pokemon is hard and sometimes you are really bad at throwing Pokeballs accurately (definitely not me, why would you even ask that?) and then you run out of Pokeballs and you have to get more because you want to catch them all.

5. Pokestops to get Pokeballs

You might not be lucky enough to work at a Pokestop (like me), but that shouldn't stop you from stocking up when you pass by one!!

6. A car or bicycle

This is more for folks who live in small towns. Pokestops can be really far from each other and you might have to drive or bike to a good hunting ground for Pokemon before you can successfully catch some Pokemon.

7. Common sense

NEVER Pokemon Go and drive! Also, I would advise not following lure modules because there are so many dangerous things that could happen. Be alert and pay attention!

8. A loyal friend

Don't wander around town by yourself, take a friend! The game is more fun and safe that way!

9. A sense of adventure

You've got to risk it all to catch 'em all.

10. Theme music

Obviously you couldn't play Pokemon Go without your own personal theme song playing in the background. (Mine is either "Downtown" or "Fergalicious". However, yours could be something from the 80s or it could be Brahm's "Denn Alles Fleisch Es Ist Wie Gras" - it's all up to you!)

11. A good pair of sneakers

The whole point of the game is to get out there and get moving! You've got to cover some ground and protect your feet while you're moving.

12. A winning spirit

If you want to be the very best, you have to believe that you can be the very best.

13. A phone charger

I haven't tried the battery saver option yet, but I know from personal experience that the act of catching them all drains all of your battery. Be prepared! All of the best Pokemon trainers are!

I only have one more piece of wisdom....

Go team blue.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
