We all love our siblings dearly, but there are some pros and cons to being the oldest of however many children...

1. You get to watch your siblings grow up.

You got to hold them from the minute they were born and watched them grow up into the person they are now. You realize how much you guys have been through and love them with all your heart.

2. They look up to you more than you realize.

Whether you realize it or not, you have become one of their biggest influences and role models in their lives. They will want to follow everything you do and say because they want to be just like you.

3. You had to figure life out for yourself.

Because you never have and never will have an older sibling to look up to and to follow their lead, you're left stranded. You don't have anybody's mistakes to learn from but your own.

4. No matter what happened, you're always in the wrong because you should know better.

Whatever argument or trouble you and your sibling got into, you will take all the blame because you are older and "should know better." It's times like these that you wish you weren't the oldest child.

5. Parents are stricter on you.

Because you are the first born child, your parents are the most overprotective and strict on you. You always had an early curfew and were limited to the things you could do compared to all your friends. Later on down the road, when your sibling gets to be about that age, their curfew is much later than yours, and your parents are a lot more laid back with them then they were with you.

6. You're protective of your siblings.

You can harass and mess with your siblings as much as you want, but the second someone else dares to mess with your baby brother/sister, you will not hesitate to beat the living sh!t out of them.

7. You get everything first.

Although there are several cons to being the eldest child, this is definitely one of the biggest pros. You are the first one to get a car, a cell phone, or whatever else you want.

8. You were forced to be a leader right off the bat.

When mom and dad are gone, you are the man/woman of the house. You have to take on a huge responsibility of taking care of your siblings, and these leadership skills may even help you in the real world.

9. You were always your parents' free babysitter.

Why would your parents hire a babysitter when they have a perfectly good free one right at home who already knows the kids and their schedule? Thanks for sabotaging my Friday night, mom and dad.

10. You were the experimental child.

Your parents really had no idea what they were doing with you. So, they just did their best and hoped you turned out alright.

11. Having to share everything.

You earned everything you have and now you're forced to share these things?! Yeah no. Not okay with this.

12. When it comes to documenting your childhood, your parents did the best with you.

Because your parents didn't have other siblings to worry about, plus they're excited to have their first kid, they have a million scrapbooks, pictures, or journaling compared to your other siblings.

13. You were the one who made your mom and dad parents.

You were the child who actually made your parents a mom and a dad, so you will always hold a very special place in their heart.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
