13 Things You Experience While Flying

The security line sucks, but the cost of your pretzels is worse

Going on vacation seems like the best thing in the world, especially when it only takes a few hours to get where you want to go by plane. Unfortunately, the airport and your plane ride may be ruined by some of these things.

1. Long airport lines.

Seriously when the security line is longer than your flight, you're in trouble.

2.The weird person next to you who doesn't shut up.

You're lucky if you sit next to the cute man who offers you gum.

3. That person who brings their own pasta.

Is it necessary to eat your leftovers at 3:00 a.m. on a plane where everyone can smell your food?

4. The screaming child.

Sometimes you have them on all sides and it's even worse when they're kicking your seat and you're trying to fall asleep.

5. Crying over the dogs you see in the terminals.

If you're lucky you're on the flight with the pup who has to walk up the aisle for exercise.

6. The immediate standing up the second the plane taxis to the gate.

Seriously people you don't need to speed off — there are people in front of you and the door isn't open yet just sit down

7. Having to use the restroom but you're on the window and don't know your seat mates.

Guess you're gonna have to wait.

8. The safety information that no one pays attention to.

9. Sky Mall!

I can't be the only one who spent their entire flight decking out their brand new home with awesome pet and pool supplies. Why did they go out of business?!

10. That person who stands up when the seatbelt sign is still on.

Seriously?

11. The people who IMMEDIATELY make a call.

Bonus points if it is to their significant other to give them a detailed explanation of the flight loud enough for the entire cabin to hear

12. The lady that's freaked out and is terrified of flying.

13. Everything costs money on your flight.

Want the WiFi — it'll cost you. Everything you may want to make your trip enjoyable will come at a price- including the air you're breathing.

While these things seem daunting, a plane is the quickest way to get around and totally worth it.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
