When you go through your freshman year of college, you're thrown in a room with strangers to live with for about nine months out of the year. These people become your family. You build a relationship with these people that only you and them understand. Here is my thank you letter to my roommates and that girl across the hall that pretty much might as well live in my room. I love you all.

1. Thank you for wiping my tears. Thank you for never saying "I told you so" when it comes to a boy. Instead you said, "I'm gonna kill him." Thank you for never judging me on my bad days when I had a temper. Thank you for keeping me sane through every meltdown, and reminding me to breathe. Thank you for never putting me down, but always supporting me.

2. Thank you for reminding me of my health. Thank you for making sure I ate today. Thank you for yelling at me when I tell you I haven't. Thank you for making sure I don't over work myself at the gym or with school work. Thank you for taking care of me when I was sick.

3. Thank you for listening to me. Whether it's the dumbest thing you've ever heard, you're always there to listen. Thank you for giving me the same advice day after day and not being mad when I don't take it and come back with the same problem a day later. Thank you for being my therapist.

4. Thank you for helping me with school work. I wouldn't make it through the semester without our study sessions. Thank you for helping me write my paper when I have a writers block. Thank you for making sure I remember to do my homework instead of going to the sporting event that day, or going to someone else room.

5. Thank you for the open closets and makeup. Thank you for letting me go through your closet when I change my mind four times in a half hour. Thank you for always letting me borrow something when I need it, or even when I was just too lazy to do my laundry.

6. Thank you for telling me the truth. Even when I don't want to hear it, you're always there to bring me back down to earth. Thank you for keeping me grounded and never holding back. Thank you for knowing that I might get upset about it, but you tell me anyways because you care.

7. Thank you for helping me answer that text message. Thank you for giving me advice on every drama situation that comes in my life, and thank you for always helping me find the right things to say.

8. Thank you for making me stay in. This speaks for itself. Thank you for making me stay in when I have that paper due at midnight and thank you for always making it a fun time when its a night in.

9. Thank you for helping me organize my life. Thank you for helping me make a study plan for exam week. Thank you for being there to talk at two in the morning when I need a venting session, and thank you for helping me prioritize my problems.

10. Thank you for making me go to class. Thank you for waking me up from my naps to make sure I wouldn't miss that class ... again.

11. Thank you for accepting me for who I am. You make sure that I make no excuses for who I am. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and thank you for never judging me. Even when I have meltdowns thinking I'm going to wake up with pink eye.

12. Thank you for being my mother. Thank you for making me dinner when I need it, and thank you for holding my hair when I'm sick. Thank you for answering every phone call or text no matter when it is. Thank you for helping me when I was too crippled to help myself.

13. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for choosing to love me everyday we spend together, and even the days we don't spend together. Thank you for accepting me and spending everyday with me. Thank you for being my family.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
