Sometimes that inspiration just hasn’t struck and your deadline is looming around the corner. Staring at a blank computer screen is incredibly frustrating and honestly won’t accomplish anything. And, what with the school-year back upon us, this annoying brain barnacle can only double-up on your stress when you're facing down deadlines, on top of any free-time creative writing. Sometimes, you just have to give your mind a break- here is a list of thirteen things to do that might give you just the break you need to get through your writer’s block:
1. Watch a movie
2. Take a walk- notice everything, and think about everything.
3. Play with your pet
4. Read a book- let your favorite writers of ole' inspire you!
5. Color- it's not just for kids.
6. Bake cookies
7. Binge-watch Netflix- I mean...you got a pargraph down...you deserve a break...
8. Do that laundry piling up in the corner
9. Listen to music- Imagine the lyrics piling up into poetry stanzas, or a storyline.
10. Eat
11. Shop online
12. Take a nap
13. Write a list of other things to do instead of actually writing your article (Oops...)
